Bluespiral -

I know this is not precisely what you want, but may do in a pinch. I took these this morning of 3 different celosias. 2 are the Bombay Pink and the Bombay Fiora Gold which grow to 3-4 ft. The other one I am posting is not a cristata, but it's a dwarf with a bicolor opposed to picotee. Just a look to see if maybe it would do in a pinch for you.

Bombay Pink

Bombay Fiora Gold

Kimono Dwarf, Mixed

I think I have both of the bombay's listed. If anyone is interested in the kimono's let me know and I'll list those as well.

Welcome Lisa, @ishareflowers, to the swap. Hurray! There are 24 players signed up so far.

The weather is fantastic here, at last, except for the lack of rain. Highs in the low 80's and lower humidity. Ah-h-h-h-h. Anyone on the coast threatened by the hurricane? Take care.

If anyone needs help over the next few days post it here. There are great people in this swap and I'm sure someone will help you.
While I'm having a little vacation I don't expect to log-on, but expect to be back Monday.

We aren't threatened by the hurricane other than some wind and rain.

Weather was beautiful in the Smokey Mountains, with leaves just showing some color. Next weekend will be glorious, no doubt.

We have some new swappers to welcome: @tabbycat, @TNT and @jerrysueb. Welcome! If I missed anyone I'm sorry. I've been home a short while and am trying to catch up on a lot of things. Let me know and I will correct any errors.

More tomorrow. Have a great week!

We have a nice long time to add members and work on lists. I'm going to need it, lol. I'm really behind this year. I post seeds as I get them packaged so I should be up to speed by swap time.

I will offer up some older seeds this time, but their approximate year of harvest will be noted in the comments section of the listing. Old seeds are welcome, but please do note if they are older than 2015. Many seeds are fine for several years, but knowing a seed is older will help determine if extra measures are needed to support germination.

We already have more participants than last year, and the range of seeds being offered is mouth watering. Green Grin!

Karen Holt, regarding your bicolor celosias here: http://garden.org/thread/view_..., I especially love the 1st two, being crested. Thank you for posting that.

And thank you Luvsgrtdanes for chiming in and making it worthwhile for KH to make them available to this swap, because I might not be able to plant them next summer, if the vandal doesn't let up.

Well enough about the vandal on this thread. I'm still following everyone else's wish lists to see if I have any seeds I can match to send in to Alana for you.

Alana, congratulations on visiting the Smokies - those were Dad's favorite place - I think there were some wpa projects there during the Depression in which he may have participated as a kid.

Night air's getting nippy here too - not gonna miss those buckets of sweat one teensy bit.

I try to transfer seeds into paper envelopes or Ziplocs ASAP.

Instead of the cat spilling them, Corey loses them:

Has anyone (besides me) ever thought to blow gently over a plate of seeds to remove the chaff and puffed them all off the plate and into the air? D'Oh! Or turned on a ceiling fan over a coffee filter of Asclepias seeds and dispersed them onto the curtains and the furniture? *Blush* Probably not.

I haven't blown ALL the seeds off my plate yet, but I have lost 20-30%.

Ever use a small plastic spoon to measure or shovel seeds, and catch it on the lip of something?

SPROIIIING goes the seed-catapult.

Although my living room rug is Zone 10 or 11, they don't seem to overwinter well.

P.S. Bluespiral mentioned something called "vacuum cleaner ". What is that? What could be cleaner than a vacuum?
