Pictures from yesterday's hike. Not very exciting, but you take what you can get.

Well, I guess I had better get out of PJ's and put on my garden clothes so that I can work on bundling up my tomato plants for the yard waste pickup. Been lazy this morning and just sat around. Even went out to put out bird seed on my PJs!! Hilarious!

Had my Raw Meal already this morning, Will have the green drink later. And I think most likely finish off the evening as I did last night by having the flavored oatmeal packet mixed with the baby cereal oatmeal. That seems to work for me.

Oh of course I have to do my exercise walk with my dog later as I do everyday. I should be loosing weight but let me tell you it is slow going. 2-3 pounds down, the scale keeps going back and forth.

Rita, the older you get the harder it is to lose those pounds.

I have been doing a lot of physical actively in the garden and also taking the dog for long walks. You would think the weight might come down. Oh well, I am sure I have gained some muscle. But I still want and intend for the scale to go down those 5 pounds.

It really is true about the few minutes on the lips and forever on the hips as this goes back to last February when I had a card for lots of half price Dunkin Donuts and could go everyday. And finished off by hitting the Ice Cream Truck far, far too often during the summer.

I thought maybe if I just cut out any and all sweets and eat sensibly it would come off. But I see I have to work harder.

Just had my green drink before writing this. Part of my planned weight loss program. Maybe I should go take another walk with my dog!!

I got a lot of yard work done today. I did fall clean-up in the front yard. I cut back some perennials, yanked annuals (they were huge!), and watered. My compost bins are overflowing and I filled several trash bags, too.

I know I'm going to have aches and pains tomorrow. I just hope I don't get any of those awful nocturnal spasms as a result of my work. Sad

My exercise today is laundry, lots of up and down the stairs. Now that the garden is ready for the winter I have no excuse not to get downstairs and start exercising, all I need is the ambition. Hilarious!

I went out and took another exercise walk with my dog. Just got back in. Now I am hungry for dinner . Have to feed Lily her dinner also, I am sure she is hungry too.

Have fresh what I call egg stew that I just need to heat up. My friend makes it and she and I both love it. Her teen age daughter thinks it's gross. Hilarious!

Rita, since the SU are "aging"............our metabolism is certainly not what it used to be. I'm sure that is a huge part of why I find it extremely difficult to lose and keep weight off. And that is why I have had to resort to some programs that can help with the metabolism problem. Add to that the hormonal imbalance of my age and it is a double whammy. I really would like to compete again, if I could just shed at LEAST 40 pounds.

Yes, it is much more difficult as one ages. And also harder to build muscles.

I am not looking at being super slim as I was in my younger days. I am actually not at a bad weight now but it is easy to go up and I don't want to go up from here. So that 5 pounds must come off.

I couldn't do the weight loss programs I have seen you post. They sure are effective for you but I couldn't keep to those diets.

This is a dish that my friend made up. I don't know what to call it so I decided it was egg stew.

It is scrambled eggs, cheese, tomatoes and either spinach or green peppers. All stewed and mixed together. It tastes great. It is what you might think of as comfort food, yummy on the tummy while not necessarily being the most elegant looking.

I'd kind of think of that as a veggie frittata? Would that be right Rita? I like veggie frittatas.

I have a sinus infection again so we won't be walking today. I need to save my energy for more urgent things.

If it gets harder to lose weight as you get older, then I am a hopeless case. Sighing! I don't eat all that much and I still can't lose.

I feel the same. I just don't think I eat enough to be the size I actually am. Plus, I belong to a gym and exercise a lot. Rolling my eyes. I went to the gym this morning. Still not pushing the exercise to hard due to leg pain. I'm also wearing compression sleeves when I exercise, as recommended by my physical therapist.

Margaret, have you considered trying this? It's cheap enough, and easy enough, and shouldn't do any harm. My PT told me to use them only when I'm exercising or on my feet a lot. She said not to sleep in them. I ordered them from Amazon. Maybe they'd help your night leg pain.

This is the brand I bought, though any size appropriate one should be OK. Read the first review by M

I'm not sure what's helping my legs (stopping Lipitor? physical therapy? compression sleeves? Shrug! ), but probably a combination of all the above. But I haven't had one of those night spasms in 3 or 4 weeks since I started this regime.

Sorry you have another sinus infection Kelli, that sucks!

I guess we have to try and move more and be a lot more careful in what we eat, which is hard to do when you love food. Rita said she ate too much ice cream and Dunkin Donuts this summer, that can add pounds quickly, but it sure doesn't come off that easy as she has found out.

Thank you, Margaret. I'll be o.k. in a couple days. I don't need to go to the doctor. It goes away on its own.

I think a frittata would have even more varieties of veggies but I think it is somewhat similar. Thumbs up
