Thought I would make a generic thread for seedlings. I have some from Gold Bug but like Kevin said mostly green. These 2 are interesting out of that bunch. First year for these so time will tell.

Is this a double rosette or two single rosettes planted closely together? What size are your seedlings and when did you sow them, Julia?

It's better to try and not separate them when they are little as often trying to separate them is more damaging. When I transplant my seedlings I use tiny crusts of the potting soil with seedlings attached. That way they aren't as stressed.

By the next spring the seedling bed is SOLID anyway. You will be shocked at how much they grow.

Sorry I just kind of dropped this, life gets in the way of my fun stuff.
Those are 2 separate rosettes. Here is another picture with a quarter for size reference.

There is actually one more in there as well but still very small.
I'm way behind as I just lined these out a few days ago.
Next to these 'Gold Bug' seedlings are some from Brown owl.







Nothing that interesting but one can hope.

Boy, that's a lot of seedlings! I have only about 200 left, all singles although some have developed double or even triple rosettes - mostly green and in various diameters.
I actually lost some due to early transplant/ separation combined with direct sunlight and heat. I should have kept them more in the shade.
Julia, I see some nice red tips in the center cluster on the first 'Gizmo' group photo!

Yes, saw that as well. There are several like that in that group of seedlings. We are just getting a few cool evenings so should expect more coloration as fall processes into winter. 'Gizmo' and 'fuzzy Wizzy' seedlings have been planted since July. Hope the rains hold off here so this next group have a chance to root. I had to create a new space for 'gold bug and 'brown owl' that's the reason for the delay.

Julia, in your last photo on the left there's a rosette that looks a bit odd in shape - it's out of focus so can't really tell..might be 'springcolor's surprise'?

That is kind of odd looking. I'll go look for it see if I can get a better picture.

I think it is just because it was so tightly packed in the seedling tray before planting. Here is a photo of that group.

I'm not able to see the odd looking one on the upper photo. Are you sure it is the same group?

Now that you say that, it is the wrong group. Dark out now I will try again in the morning.

This one had some nice color.

Yes, I can see that now Julia. It does look like a piece of sedum. It was photo bombing.

Angelina is near by and so are some others. The birds more than likely are adding to my garden.
