I don't have anything as nice as Gerry's Silky Twilight but it is still nice to have daylily blooms in the garden at this time of year.

I feel very lucky! I have a bloom from 'Spacecoast Tigertail Tango.' I got it from Maryott in July, and it's doing its best to thrill me now!

Ginny, this unusually pleasant October deserves all the credit. In the past we have had ice storms, heavy winds rain, and of course, freezing temperatures that killed any buds during the month of October.

Ginny, have you thought to pot a daylily to have it bloom indoors in the winter?

I don't know if I remembered to post a photo of the Thomas Tew bloom photo. This was the 3rd cultivar that bloomed for me after receiving it in my last Maryott's order (which I received in September). So nice to have blooms this late in the season. You would think that more cultivars would re-bloom later in Florida, but I've not had any such luck except those I received from Maryott's. I have quite a few that I received over the past year that have yet to bloom for me. I hope to see blooms on all of them in 2017.

And I noticed today that Walter Kennedy has produced yet another scape. I love this cultivar!!!!

Pretty blooms Karen, Barbalee and Becky!

Karen - The seedling has a good debut. It will be interesting to see how that one does.

I have two blooming today.

Wow, your TT and WK are gorgeous Becky! You made fantastic buys from Maryott Daylilies. THe colors and eyes are super nice.

Love your Ultimate Sacrifice, Debra! I hope my seedlings from the above cross will produce some nice blooms. I have six more from the cross that have not bloomed yet. Will be interesting to see what its siblings look like or whether the above bloom will change as the plant matures.

Karen - I'll be interested in seeing your ither results from The Ultimate Sacrifice cross. I made lots of crosses with it this season. Now if I only had enough room to plant all the seeds. I'm hoping for pretty reds and purples with white edges.

I am so far behind on the various forums, that I'm not even going to try to catch up.

A few pictures from the other day(s)...

The following were from 10-18, taken shortly after 6 PM:

Thumb of 2016-10-22/Polymerous/7a1ccb
rebloom on a very short scape of 'Egyptian Queen' (the clump is way overgrown and needs dividing)

Thumb of 2016-10-22/Polymerous/0765a0
continuing rebloom on 'Newberry White Dove' (there are a couple of buds left to go)

Thumb of 2016-10-22/Polymerous/f8a88f
LFO on 'Winning Note'? (I'm wondering if more scapes will appear...)

Thumb of 2016-10-22/Polymerous/6981ce
a quartet of same-scape blooms on 'Raspberry Banana Cheesecake' (in my experience, this is highly unusual); I am probably going to remove this plant shortly.

Thumb of 2016-10-22/Polymerous/6b0cbf
gratuitous rose bloom: 'Lady Emma Hamilton' (my daughter picked this one out, and now she lives in another state Sad )

Thumb of 2016-10-22/Polymerous/870dd5
A late surprise in the seedling patch! (Let's hope it makes it to bloom...I have not had good luck with this particular cross. And yes, those are poly buds...)

from 10-19, also around 6-ish PM

Thumb of 2016-10-22/Polymerous/06bf3c
a 4x4 polymerous bloom on 'Burmese Buddha'; this cultivar sometimes reblooms in the fall, and sometimes, variably (it seems environmentally touchy) produces some number of polymerous blooms (which, as you see, are not always symmetric). Color is more gold than seen here (I had to Photoshop to lighten the overall dark image).
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom
