@lovemyhouse Debra, I was pretty sure you were the coffee nut. I saw this a while back on Facebook where I follow a comic called "The Awkward Yeti". Heart and Brain are regular characters, as is the butterfly who follows Heart around. I figured you would appreciate it.

Sunday dawned dark and very windy; not conducive to insect photography. Monday was calmer, but chilly. However, a couple of bumble bees did show up for work along the north fence. Initial activity was at the Russian Sage:
Thumb of 2016-10-12/marsrover/0ea87d Thumb of 2016-10-12/marsrover/bd1fcd A liftoff shot. Smiling
Then, instead of moving on to another flower, one bee perched on fence lining material. Was this to catch some warmth from the sun? Confused Another bee landed upon a Jackmanii climates leaf and "rested" there for a bit.

The first bee eventually flew off, and the second bee moved on to the Autumn Fire Sedum.
Thumb of 2016-10-12/marsrover/685763
Perhaps bugged by my proximity, it shifted position on the sedum, using a large leaf to try and block me?:

There I was this morning, sitting at my computer, reviewing bee images and listening to the BBC, which was discussing Brexit. Now, what does that have to do with this forum? Well, they were in Scotland and one of the venues for the program was one town's annual bee keepers' meeting. More politics and economics than bees on the show, but, still, an amusing coincidence.
Just to keep this post legitimate, here's another bee liftoff image:

Tuesday morning began clear and chilly (upper thirties); no critter activity. However, around 1 o'clock things picked up with a small carpenter bee hanging around, perhaps not too gracefully, on the Russian Sage:

After nearly falling off a couple of times, our less than coordinated bee flew off to be replaced by a bumble bee:
Thumb of 2016-10-15/marsrover/3b1b08 Thumb of 2016-10-15/marsrover/4615ed
In the next two images, a bee appears to to be jumping to a new position or perhaps starting to liftoff:
Thumb of 2016-10-15/marsrover/bf9827 Thumb of 2016-10-15/marsrover/bac255
Next, a bee sticks out its proboscis a bit and then seems to be wiping it with its two front legs:
Thumb of 2016-10-15/marsrover/834053 Thumb of 2016-10-15/marsrover/628047
Finally, we have a bee hanging from one stem, grabbing the tip of another stem with a lower leg, pulling it over, plopping on the top flower, and finally re-positioning on the first stem (a gymnast?):
