They really do have some lovely roses - and very reasonable shipping. But I do not need to order more roses. I do NOT need to order more roses. I have almost convinced myself...

I notice FOURTH OF JULY is one of those on sale. I gave a friend a plant of it a few years ago, and this is what it looked like in April. I really love it!

That's so pretty, Betty! I love Fourth of July.

Porkpal, I know what you mean, but a couple of my mini-climbers are dying out, so I'm really tempted to buy Work of Art and Life Lines. There's always room for more minis, right?

I'm not too impressed with Purple Splash. Not very purple. More like Red Splash.

Hmmm, I have some credit coming as he bought these two images off me. Big Grin http://www.gardenvines.com/sho...

Speaking of Work of Art, I just took this picture Zuzu about 10 minutes ago. Cute small blooms.

I thought those pictures looked familiar. Big Grin

I love Work of Art, Sue, but mine has been prone to weird stuff in the past year. Like mildew or some other unfamiliar-looking thing. It hasn't put out a single bloom this season.

Mine has been getting mildew, rust and some blackspot, not too happy with it. Glare I will plant it and see what happens once it's in the ground with more room to grow.

Yes, I think that's what it is: mildew, rust, and black spot combined. Oh, the horror!

Well, phooey! Work of Art and Life Lines are sold out, so I guess he got a very quick response.

I discovered they give you a quantity discount if you order enough....
and I think they are selling out fairly quickly. . I would swear Lemon Meringue was available the first time I checked, then 10 minutes later it wasn't. So...with the pressure on, I didn't let myself think on it overnight. I just clicked and clicked. Got some good ones that I've been wanting for a while.
I already have Westerland, Jacob's Robe and Autumn Sunset growing right next to each other so I wanted to put Lemon Meringue in with that group, but oh well too late.
I did get another CanCan, and Winner's Circle, both of which were new ones for me this year. Morning Magic was new to me this year also, and it held up to our heat. I replaced a Polka that succumbed to RRD with another Polka. I had Eden at my last house, and while it didn't bloom much, I love the form of the bloom so much that I bought the other colors too. John Davis and the Charlatan are both new ones for me but they should be super hardy. Too bad Cape Diamond is sold out, I love that rose. I bought it a few years ago and showed it at our District show and won a ribbon, my first in roses. No one had ever seen that one before, and there were no other entries with it, so that's how I got the ribbon. Big Grin
Another one I missed out on is Pearly Gates. Maybe I'll find it somewhere next year. Climbing Orange Crush looks like it would play well with Westerland, so I got it.
I can vouch for Candy Land and Soaring spirits--they are disease free here.
Thanks for enabling, i think.... Whistling

Does anyone know if any left on the list are thornless?
What made me think of that is, I was just out weeding under my row of Fourth of July and it's a thorny monster. At one time, I swore all I would ever buy is thornless roses. HMF has a sort function for thorn-free, but I'm not a subscriber any more.

I don't know what's left, but Lady Banks and Zepherine Drouhin are considered thornless and Seven Sisters nearly is.

Do NOT get Orange Velvet. Big thorns along with tons & tons of little prickers. Bleh. Don't quote me on this, but I think Harlequin is almost thornless. Gorgeous climber, white & pink blooms that smell wonderful.. love that rose. I moved mine as it was a teensy little bitty thing from next to the house to my new little itty bitty arbor that's over Freyja and planted her there. Grew about 2ft and was very generous with massive blooms.

Brushwood is so fast...whew. I ordered last night and just got confirmation that they'll be at my house on Thursday! omg.
Porkpal, thanks for the reply. I have Zephirine, Lady Banks and Seven Sisters. Love 'em!
Toni, I did get Orange Crush.
Glad they've already shipped because I was tempted to add to the order. Sticking tongue out
