Cotyledons got nicely green in the Ipomoea setosa seedling.

Was the Ipomoea nil with reverse tube and petaloids with yellow leaves, Ronnie? These plants are staying yellow for me.

Yeah Joseph, that one. Is that maple leaf mutant ? Or is the leaf called cordate as it simple ? I guess I could use the Dictionary, here, or pick up the print version in other room.
Well wouldn't you know it, that I actually went to La Jolla to visit a friend & he pointed up to the top of the hill, where an extremely large American flag was waving & he said that's where Dr. Seuss lives. ( T. Geisel) Then later, the moon was full & so we went "grunion hunting" ( catching fish by hand at the beach in La Jolla) & came back & fried them up for a late dinner, in June 1972. I kid you not.
Of course, now I'm growing weird stuff . like normal..mutant Japanese morning glory from seeds. I don't know who to blame for enticing me, more with these oddities, the most -you or Ronnie. lol

I'm not sure what mutant gene is behind making that leaf.

I was looking at an old pdf file on the genetic study from about 1920, & they showed the maple & willow, plus the various flower forms & mentioned 'Parent stock'
Well, I bought a pkt. of 'Sunrise Serenade' locally, but I think the 'double' they refer to , is the petaloid type, in the center of normal corolla, on same plant with a 'normal' flower to use .. Another member sent some Lavender Beauty seeds, among others.
The one mutant leaf is finally becoming more complex & variegation started ...
I made notes on what is involved, & want to try & make seeds for Dianthus flowered form. JHeirloom, they got you started too, huh? It's all good, interesting & really has been enjoyable.

Ipomoea tuberculata cotyledons. I'm happy one half of the cots were complete.

Yes, I can't wait to see them. Interestingly, the last two years I grew them, their first bloom occurred during the same time, first week in September. The leaves have an interesting shape, too.

I start most of the seeds indoors a few weeks before transferring them outdoors.
