I haven't seen any honeybees yet this spring in my garden but today I noticed that lots of bumblebees were out and about.

Yesterday 06Apr, saw this bee by our sedum morganianum, I thought it prefers flowers instead of succulents.
Too bad this sedum has no blooms right now:

Poor little guy must have been looking for those blooms that are not there!

Sedums are a valuable source of nectar for them.
Maybe she was just checking to see how much longer it would be before the blooms appear.

We pulled off the first honey yesterday. Think it's clover honey as that's what they are working the most right now.

We were at the Winchester gardens in San Jose earlier today and saw this wonderful golden colored bee:




Just adding some info about this bee as I research more about it..it is a male carpenter bee..very harmless, though bigger than a bumblebee, this one has no stinger..cool!
