So far I have only seen the bumblebees, maybe tomorrow I will check the crabapple blooms to see if there are any about. It's been pretty cool and we have had rain so maybe that's why. Shrug!

Those of you in warmer areas remember that as the heat goes up the bees will be kept busy keeping the hive cool. They are more interested in water than flowers then.

A drone from one of our hives.

Aaah, Mindy .... I hadn't thought of that! We've been having a lot of heat lately ... mid to upper 80's and almost 90 one day so I guess those little bees are trying to keep the hives cool.

Great shot of that Drone bee on someone's arm!!

I saw a big decline in honeybees a few years ago, but now I have pretty many.

I guess I'm stating the obvious, but avoiding insecticides in your garden is important for the bees. I gave up insecticides years ago.

Me too, Margaret. I don't want to poison the good guys.

The only thing I use for bugs is soapy water.

I don't like chemicals either ... and I agree with Margaret, the birds do a great job of pest control, along with ladybugs etc.
