Group hug

Dianne & Tee, I would gladly send you both a piece of the Ajania - it has been a good spreader for me; I've already transplanted it twice in the three or so years I've had it. I love the leaves on it. I don't think it's evergreen, but pretty close. It doesn't mind part shade, either.

Have Tutti Frutti Agastache; trailing lavender, New Gold, and Dallas Red Lantana; Mexican Heather; pink Dianthus; Strawberry Fields Gomphrena; Amber Mums; Heritage Roses; NOID red roses; Wild Thing, Cislano, and NOID Salvias; Sweet and Cinnamon Basils; and Nana Coreopsis blooming today. First freeze expected tonight, but it will be a light one and I don't expect it to do too much damage to anything except the Lantana and Basil.

Do you just let your plants go or do you try to cover them, Deb? My lantana were perennial in Phoenix, but I don't know if they're hardy in your area.

One thing that really surprises me - I started some annual "coconut scented" geranium this year, thought it'd be one of the first to turn black from frost - it's still a nice, lovely green! Blooms are microscopic, but I love the scent of this plant. Smiling I need to wander out there and see if it has a few seeds to offer - I think I may have collected two so far.... Whistling

I put my potted

Thumb of 2011-11-28/chelle/7e4240

plumbago in the crawlspace under the house - think it'll live?

Chelle, what a pretty picture!! Love the Coleus with the blue.
It just may live there.
I put a Mandevilla in the garage for the winter. We'll see if it survives....

Sheryl, I cover the containers if temps are expected below 30 (not often). Otherwise, they are all on their own. Smiling The Lantana shrivels up, but comes right back in Spring. The New Gold is in its fourth year. I happily trade the horrible Texas summers for the generally mild Texas winters. Green Grin!

Love Plumbago. Have one in the baseball bed with the Caryopteris and they look really nice together.

Well...my last planting package of 2011 just arrived. Roses. Of course we're now underwater again! Hilarious! Is it a case of serendipity, or just dumb luck that I planned on planting these along the lake walk? Whistling I wouldn't be able to plant so much as a seed in the yard right now, it'd wash away! At least it's nice and warm today - the new roots can get a nice healthy drink before planting....I'll just wade them out into the stream that's once again flowing through the yard. Rolling on the floor laughing ...and, no muddy boots today...there's plenty of standing water to wash them off in. Big Grin

But today I thought....... I need a few more things........... so planting will be going on for awhile. LOL. Rolling on the floor laughing Hilarious!

Janice! Rolling on the floor laughing

I'm doing these and I'm done.... Whistling

...for a month. Rolling on the floor laughing Then inside, early seed germination begins! Hilarious!

[I ended up soaking the roots in buckets - these plants were sprayed with an insecticide/fungicide, or something Blinking ....they reeked! I'm not even tossing the shredded paper in the compost like I usually would. ]

Okay. Soaking time is up! Time to toss 'em in the ground before everything freezes up again tonight. Rolling my eyes.
