I am increasingly enjoying the Jovibarba/Heuffelii.
Do they never "bloom out" and die like an occasional semp might?
I had contemplated growing a whole patch devoted to them. It might look quite splendid. So I stopped thinking about it and started doing something about it. Here is my tentative Heuffelii patch with rocks in their final positions. There are some red ground-cover Spurium sedums which I expect to surround those two Agaves which will be planted somewhere just about there.
My dream is that I will be able to look across some Sedum-adorned Agaves right into a patch of rocks mixed with Heuffelii clumps. Not a bad dream, whether I can pull it off is another question. Years in the making at best. I do like having things to look forward to... watching the year-to-year change... and having different things coming into their prime each season. Y'all know what I'm talking about.
Since there was some sunshine today I brought out my Heuffelii minis from the coldframe so they could get some actual direct sunshine. And maybe check out their future digs.
