James and Peter, I think I fit in with you both quite well, and it seems as if we are going in the same direction. I see James on
the LA with seeds right now. I wish I had the time and energy to be so diligent while making the crosses and keeping them
separated. I think I am located right in the middle between you here in Ohio. My budget is just smaller!

Peter, you mentioned that your wife likes one kind and you another. I think the best part of being a hobby gardener is that I
can grow what I like, instead of growing the latest craze if I were in a business. Deciding on which plants to add, and in which
direction you want to go. My passion is extra large flowers, but I also have every size.

I was telling Mayo a while back that OCD has taken over. I am just at the point where I need to decide where to go from here.

Adding and aiding...some amazing new purchases!

I don't remember most of the names of my new purchases. Not because I am like James and Peter and buy so many, but because I am old....lol.

I did buy a collection full of Davi's, but that just makes me smart. A lot of Polston and some special Pierce too. Hardly any dips so far, which is not normal for me, just NINJA TURTLE and KISS. FACT from Townsend, and TORONGO from Mattoon. HOLY GHOST and EARNING YOUR STRIPES are exciting newbies too!

My friends are trying to buy the AHS directory...lol, but I have been quite sane.

James and Peter WOW!!!!!

Next spring I will be 77 and with my declining health I am cutting back severely. I ordered a collection of three from Trimmer the Morningstar collection. They are Rainbow Blues, Lady Dragon and Mama Knows best. Two are from TET Emerald Starburst.

This fall I got three from Di Decaire... Zzyzified, Totem and Tabboo and she gave me Generous Spirit as an extra, a very generous extra, since it is a 2015 intro.

I won one on the auction The Fantastic Barbara Watts.
And that is all so far.

I am so far only adding four all from Davi three new intros and one I didn't have, not sure if I will add any others only time will tell. The winter gets long and I get tempted, but I only have so much room so when a new one comes in an old one leaves.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime plant a garden!

Not adding any here either as I will be digging them and moving them to a location l80 miles north of where I am now so won't be taking a lot of evergreens with me. I will be cutting the number I have from 300 to 200.

How do you go about choosing what to keep and what to toss, Cindy? I may need to do that soon if I keep adding new plants. It is going to be tough to toss out stuffs that I have come to know and grow for years. Sighing!

For several years I have been getting rid of my older dormants with less fancy flowers, and have replaced them with fancy
and expensive evergreens, only to find out that they just aren't very happy with our dry summers. Being unable to water them,
I am coming back to some of the older dormants that are more dependable. I haven't ever had an evergreen to freeze out
even in zone 5A, but many don't increase like they should. I still have a hard time choosing what to toss sometimes.

I think I have ordered about a dozen so far, but NOTHING like James and Peter! WOW!

It is hard Karen. I am going to choose those plants that I know will do ok in the harsher climate. That will be my main priority. Second, I will choose those plants that are fertile, because I love to hybridize. I will be taking both older and newer daylilies.

Both of your selections are gorgeous, Peter! They are a bit pricey for me. Plus I had already bought a few seeds and seedlings with Harold Steen as the pollen parent. I am saving money for some of their future seedlings that they discuss on the blog. Some of their seedlings are incredibly beautiful.

I saw Peter buying on the LA last night, as he got one right before I got two more.. but mine were the cheap ones!

And James, you ordered Tet Deep Impact?? OOHH VERY NICE! Love that applique throat. By the way, I got some seeds
from you sometime recently. At least that is one direction to go. I am like you in that I am all over the place as well. Got
several of the appliques last year, and some toothy ones, and now trying to go for some patterns. I am also wanting to
cross back with older dormants to get more northern friendly plants. I didn't intend to get so many Diploids, but seem to
be getting several of them.

I have no business adding anything.

That said, I might add some more Davisson daylilies.
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

Compared to my previous problem of just buying cars... these are cheap lol.
