beenthere said:New to the forum, though I have been lurking and learning. And new to any daylily varieties other than Stella and Pardon me. They served me well, by covering our hill till I could retire and figure out what to do with that area. Now this fall/winter I've gone and done it! Have 30 varieties totaling about 250 daylilies coming. And I'm so very happy!

Sounds beautiful, Tina and Welcome!

Larry am growing the top two. I ordered Helix in '15 and Kachina Firecracker was a gift last year. I will talk about Helix, and to be honest I was a bit disappointed when it bloomed.

It barely resembles the photo I saw when I decided to purchase it. As for performance, the scape's were shorter and didn't have the numbers of branching or blooms as what is listed.

One thing that I keep telling myself is that, I've only had it for two years now. It was potted after I received it, and finally added to a bed last spring. So in all actuality, it is still settling in. Hope to see some improvement this year. Crossing Fingers!

I had a similar experience with my Helix this past year. Please bear in mind that I purchased it late 2015, also, and so mine has only had one year so far to bloom and try and impress me. I am by no means ready to give up on it and I'm hoping it will look better once established. My Helix also had short scapes and underwhelming blooms...they were a little off-color and sort of scrappy looking, is the best way to describe them. It did bloom, though, and that's something.

Since I believe you are the purchaser of record (giving me plausible deniability Whistling ) I could say the same to you! I'll just seek retribution by sending you a piece of tainted Rose.

Hi Tina, Welcome to the madness.

Jan Joiner is speaking at our club meeting next week so I hope to add some from the auction.

I've also "added" this seedling which at 5 weeks old has two fans! I thought I'd put two seeds in the same site but they're from one.

Thanks, Mike, I still have to decide on my orders from two local daylily nurseries and I am ordering some plants from one of our garden.org members once spring arrives and she sees how things came through the winter. So, I will have lots of new daylilies (and iris, as well), to entertain me this summer Hilarious!

Your qualifier for "rich" seems to be low...

There are very few truly rich daylily people.

Daylilies
Have been following a while and finally decided to join. I have around 400 daylilies but narrowed my focus for hybridizing to polys so that is where most of my money has gone. Smiling

This spring I'm adding -
Poly Put The Kettle On
Octomom
Crazy Eights
Polywog In A Bog
Resistance Is Futile
Scarlet Polyana
Carolina Flying Poly Possum
Calico Poly
Four Diamonds
Lavendar Fascination
Counter Terrorist
I Have Issues
Run Time Error
Xtra Baggage
Hynpotized
Airdrie
I am on quite a few daylily FB pages but you can never have enough"go to" folks for help. Smiling

Gleni,
Maybe there would be a lot of rich daylily people in America, but they spent all their money on daylilies!
