Larry I added Kachina Firecracker from LarryR last year but was done blooming when I got it so no blooms until this summer. LarryR might have some insight on this one.

I saw Ruby Lipstick listed on the LA, and was considering getting it this year, and also saw where you have/ had it, and
was wondering if you can tell me about it? Has an interesting look, uncluttered.

Hi Deryll:

An oldie but a goodie, Deryll, and a favorite of mine. 'Ruby Lipstick' is one of the latest blooming daylilies in my garden, with no rebloom. It blooms in mid August, and into September. I wouldn't say its prolific, but each year it does send up 1 new fan. The flowers are gorgeous, exactly like my picture in the database. The 'eye' is truly a ruby red color. As with all my plants, and because I live in a state with a shorter growing season being located in New England, I fertilize heavily in the Spring with 'Alfalfa Meal' not the pellets. Harder to fine, but well worth the effort. My plants thrive on this organic food - Greener leaves, faster growth rate, brighter flowers.
Yes, I feel you will love 'Ruby Lipstick'. Big Grin nodding nodding Big Grin

Thank you for the information. I haven't decided for sure yet. The slow increase is a concern.

My own registration does that, and while mine is just "mine", it has been worth the wait because of the color and
the size. Ruby deserves some consideration. Thanks again Alex!

Alex, loved what you said about planting seedlings every year. I am so looking forward to it.

I've fallen in love with a couple that I keep going back to moon over. They're actually in my cart at Woodhenge Gardens.

One is named "Incessant", a beautiful daylily that supposedly blooms it's heart out! I checked the database here and lots of members have or had it. I'm hoping to get some babies out of Rose F Kennedy with this one that would be stunning and have rebloom!

The other one is named "Alchemist". The pictures I've seen of this daylily enthrall me! I think it would make beautiful babies with Rose and Lillian's Vapor Trail, as well as several others in my garden. But, make no mistake, I just like looking at it!

I'm trying to stop, so have vowed to stay away from floota's wonderful blog!

One that I did go ahead and order yesterday was Texas Feathered Fancy! Can't wait!
I are sooooo smart!

Deryll - I have Ruby Lipstick for sale on the Lily Auction right now. It has multiplied very rapidly for me, more than doubling in years with good rainfall. It doesn't rebloom for me every year, but it has in at least four of the ten years I've grown it. Ruby Lipstick is one of the ten best performers in my garden and one I will always grow.

Everyone has some fabulous daylilies coming. I can't wait to see your photos of them this summer.

I shouldn't have ordered more than three new ones, and I can't even remember all I have coming. Everytime I put seed or plant auctions on the Lily Auction, I end up buying more than I sell. LOL

Anyway, here's what I remember ordering.

Last fall from Floyd Cove, I got
Dancing Flamingo
Nordic Soul
with Venetian Pools and Violet Horizons as bonuses

Last fall from Ladybug Daylilies, I got
Geneva Pinkalicious
Ripsaw
Skater
Devil Woman
with Core Values and Sexy Samantha as bonuses

This spring from Floyd Cove: Pink Extraordinaire

From Bill Waldrop at Kennesaw Mountain Daylilies: Fully Blessed and Marlee Jane

From Woodhenge: Smug and September Flame

From Art Gallery Gardens: Blue Over You and Banded Broadbill

From Lily Auction sellers:
Massive Dynamic from Spunky1
a couple from Floota
All Things to All Men
The Big Picture
four or five more that I don't remember their names

Debra, what is your seller's name on the Lily Auction? I tried shive1 and got nothing...

Debra,

There is only one on the LA, so I guess that would be yours then! I like the looks of it, but I have already bought 25 new ones
so far this year. I see myself getting into big time trouble when they begin coming. Just not sure yet. Maybe someone else
will buy it so I won't be tempted! I do hope you can sell it though. Sounds better all the time to me.

I got Rip Saw last year, and the scapes were bad about falling over. Hoping they do better this year.

Betty - My username on the Lily Auction is lilipod.

Derryl - I know what you mean about getting in trouble with so many coming. LOL. But ... you've already bought one from me. You'd save so much on shipping. ...

Debra, you said you ordered a couple from floota. Was that on the LA, or does she have a website?

Leslie - It's good to know others forget too! The Lily Auction bids were impulse buys that I didn't think about as much as the others. They all just looked too good to pass up. Now I need to sell a bunch more auctions to pay for my purchases. LOL

Josieskid - Yes, the ones from floota were Lily Auction buys.

Debra,

I did buy one from you didn't I?!! Just goes to show that I don't discriminate! But you can also see that I am to
the place where I can't remember what I have bought unless I look it up! You guys get me on that site with all
of those cool pictures and I am going nuts in 2017! There were some Jammins on the 2016+ page a few days
ago that had me doing cartwheels- as well as several others.

I am trying to add to my collection of permanent plants, but also buying stock plants for crosses I want to make.
Toss in a pinch of Daylily OCD during the winter... oooh that is not a good thing!

FYI, when I bought plants in the past on the LA, I just print out the the list of the ones I bought there and put it in a folder for future reference. Easiest way to keep up with your purchase

I use the PlantStep software developed by Kent Balen. When I win/purchase a daylily for future shipment I enter it into the software but make the letters green until it arrives.

I use an ink pen and a piece of paper in a notebook, but either way, it is still hard to keep track of all the user names and
who belongs to what! I can look on my items won pages to find that info if I want it also, but I don't always know who those
people are on here just in a regular conversation unless the user names are the same. As I am always looking to add
something new every year, the user names kind of take a back seat until I actually win a bid and make out the check. And
when you buy several plants, keeping that info tucked in your brain for the purpose of a casual conversation--- well, it
doesn't happen very often here. Sorry. I do try though.

I hope that sounds logical!

Guess the winter just got a little long for me and I had some fun on the lily auction. Nine more daylilies will call my garden home along with the the three new introductions I had already ordered. Out with some old in with the new, keeps the garden interesting with something new to enjoy and friends like getting the ones removed.

I have used the plantstep flowers program since 2002 to keep track of plants the cost of the program is very affordable. Plus I always make up a word document for what I am adding each year in which I include the seller LA name and their real name. Then I just print out my document to use for making up my labels as I still use a label maker that is not attached to my computer. Have had it for years and it is still working great.

I don't have much space so this year I'm going to plant a lot of seedlings.
The only new daylily I'll get is this

Thumb of 2017-02-18/cybersix/406f65

It's Italian Northern Light, I think I'll be the first to add pics on here!
