I buy at least one geranium every year just because they were my grandma's favorite flower too. I'm not very dedicated to the pinching, pulling and dead-heading that they require to keep on blooming, so I'm not terribly successful with them.

Both of those photos are treasures! Smiling

To answer a couple questions
The stachys seem to be taller this year than last , maybe because we had a very wet spring.

and...
Phebe (chinchilla) seems to be most active in the evening when we are all around. It is rather quiet in the day here and my son works nights in the computer room where Phebe lives.

We had a low in the 20's last night and snow yesterday . the snow did not stick except to the cars Sad I guess gardening season is over for me.
..a balanced life is worth pursuit.

It stuck here. It snowed fairly heavily throughout dinner and evening family time. It was still with us (about an inch worth) this morning, but it's mostly gone now. I really want to take a walk in the woods, but it's so cold! Think I'll bundle up and do it anyway...there's a plant or two that I need to check on...
...why is it that when it comes down to a plant issue - that it just can't wait? Hilarious!

Know what you mean, Chelle!
Phebe is so cute, Cinda!

First time I ordered roses from Brushwood and they arrived today. I am so pleased with how healthy and beautiful they are plus the excellent packing job. Ordered more last night before they even arrived and now I am glad I did. Anyone get them there before?

Lots of leaves finally dropping as we had gusts up to 30 mph. I will miss the tulip tree leaves when the sun hits them, the room just glows.

Stachys hummelo is a new plant for me. I don't think I have ever seen them in the nurseries here. It is a pretty plant though. Temperatures are still in the 60's here during the day, and 40's at night. I will be spending the next couple of weekends pulling up spent plants (including the vegetables) and trying to get the last of my recently purchased plants into the ground.

All my dahlias are done, with the exception of Earl, but the mums are going strong.

How stunning those dahlias are. I seem to be looking at white flowers for next years garden.
Astilbes mostly for the hosta garden, plus a lily or 2
