Hi, Tam! Beautiful tulip photo!
Ah! this is the time I love to be reminded of Spring. It helps push me out the door and get those bulbs planted! Smiling

Very nice!

Got out and put my pansies in the ground today - they've been tortured long enough now, I guess - bought them over a month ago.

Wow!

Gorgeous Oriole and tulip combo, Tamara! Thumbs up

I miss the Orioles' song when they leave.

I'll do no planting today....too much rain, the ground's full-up in the moisture content area. I do have some baby baptisia that I have to figure out what to do with over the winter. I've heard they can be tricky to over-winter as seedlings. Maybe keep them in the unheated greenhouse??

How big are your baby Baptisia, Chelle? I've wintered flats of them right outside. The hardest part is getting them to transplant, as they have a tap root.

Nice photos, all. Raining here now too. I had the yard all tidied up from the downed leaves ... now it's blown, wet leaves. Glare

They're pretty small because I never got around to getting them out of their "growing up" cups. One (good?) thing about that though, the taproots are still contained. I saved back a few seeds just in case....

Think I should just pot them into bigger containers and leave them outside in a somewhat protected area? Or, will a hungry rabbit be inclined to snack on them?

I don't think I'd pot them up at this time, Chelle. Mine were in trays of 32, if you know that size. I put them under the pine trees for the winter, and then potted them in the summer. I would cover them with some wire maybe to keep the rabbits away, although they didn't bother mine.

Okay. Thanks, Polly! Thumbs up

These are in 16 ounce Styrofoam cups, so should be big enough. I'll just make sure they won't be blown away and leave it at that. Big Grin

I think I would group them all together and tip them on their sides.

Isn't it fun? You've done really well as Baptisia is pretty hard to start from seed.

Yes, that's what I'd heard, too. I just wintersowed these like all the rest, and had three seeds out of five planted sprout and live.

These are special because on our final trip to see our ailing great-aunt she passed them on to us - a memento from her gardens. Lovey dubby

I know!

My mom asks me about these seeds seems like every other day...she keeps forgetting that some are growing, and may likely survive.

John moved some daff bulbs this morning. They are in front of a stone wall along the street, some were lost when work was done on the street this fall, so he dug some which were near the surface & moved them over & planted deeper where the work was done. We will at least get leaves there next spring instead of a blank space.

I need to rent him for a bit, is that okay? My husband has decided that I'm the outdoor caretaker and hasn't given it another thought.
