Very nice Sue. Wish I had a yellow. I read (Hippeastrum: The Gardener's Amaryllis) that an Amaryllis bulb passes through 9 pairs of hands JUST in harvesting process. No wonder they often get mislabeled!

Sue: its good to see you posting blooms again. Its funny that two differently labelled bulbs turned out to be the same cultivar.

Sumatra from Dutch Gardens. Sumatra is probably the most commonly sold cybister. Years ago, Sumatra was the first cybister that I ever owned. Not my favorite, but a reliable bloomer. This season, it was a surprise to get this as the substitution for the unavailable Sweet Potato Pie.

Princesse Claire from Royal Colors. This is named in honor of the Princesse Claire from Belgium who "baptized" it at the March 2016 Amaryllis exhibition at Chateau Beloeil. The blooms are very delicate, white with dark pink striping and a green heart. All four buds, opened at once, and are slightly up-facing, so from above it looks like a bridal bouquet.

@bsharf -- I also got Sumatra as a substitute for Sweet Potato Pie (which you know I was NOT happy about). But it is my first cybister, and it just sent up a scape, so I will keep my fingers crossed that is is nice. Will post photo in a couple of weeks. Crossing Fingers!

My first Lemon Sorbet scape has 4 open flowers now, they are a very pretty lemon colour with a beautiful green throat.

Striped Amadeus from Royal Colors. This is a very nice double: A lot of variation in the amount of dark pink striping and freckles with a picotee edge.

Tres Belles from Royal Colors. A particularly nice small flowered raspberry pink bloom, with a white star, green throat and red eye. Lots of buds (13 on two scapes) and long lasting in a vase.

Paul, very nice. Question: how do you get that brilliant green background?

Thanks Barbara. The background is just a sheet of poster paper. My walls are off white which works for darker blossoms but a strong color works better for lighter blossoms IMHO.

I really like your Aphrodite, Paul. I was thinking of using my black cape as a backdrop for my amaryllis pictures this time. if they ever bloom, that is. I do have 2 buds each on Papilio and Sumatra, so all I need is a little more patience I guess. Whistling

Aphrodite put up 3 stems which all bloomed at the same time. Spectacular now but I would have had longer bloom if they had came up one at a time.

Mystica from Royal Colors. A distinctive cybister with crisp red and pink striping on a green background. 13 buds on 2 scapes.

Terra Mystica from Royal Colors. Small flowered, coral- orange (pumpkin or sweet potato) bloom with a darker center. Will this prove to be identical to Sweet Potato Pie advertised by Dutch Gardens?

Mocca from Royal Colors. What a unexpected surprise! My favorite bloom this season. This was a late, limited supply bulb offered by RC. The photo on the website was washed out, and I was hesitant to even purchase it. Its a midsized bloom, coral striping on green. 2 scapes bloomed at once. A real knockout. Definitely looks better in person. My dh rarely "notices" the blooms. He mentioned this one. "Wow that's really unique." That's the highest compliment I've ever gotten on one of my amaryllis.

Mocca and Terra mystica make a nice grouping in a vase.
