Uh oh on kitty Blinking

We don't do that much either but two of our three children live out of state and both of them have December birthdays as well. I'm "hoping" to be done by the first of next week.

Beautiful job LK, I haven't done one of those in years. I recamember some of those folds. If I tried to do one of those without looking at the directions I'd have a wadded up mess. Thanks for posting the link.

They are so pretty, Linda. I may have to see if I've saved some Christmas cards from past years. I'm hoping the new year will make me creative. Hilarious! I don't remember ever seeing them.

I learned how to make them out of old cards back in the 5th grade! It was a math project. These are made from fabric, that I soaked in glue, let harden, then cut out the circles.

It is a fabric glue called Stiffy. Elmers would probably work, I don't know for sure. I tried starching it, but that did not work at all. It has to be really stiff, or it won't hold it's shape. You can try a small piece of fabric, let it dry, and see what you get?
Link is for stiffy glue, so you can see what it looks like. Just make sure you print out the sheet of circles, and glue them on the back side of the fabric. It makes it easier to cut out for me... Once you have the circles cut, you need to score each line so it will fold straight. I used the back of a pairing knife. As the fabric glue dries it will curl the fabric, not to worry, as it still works good once you cut out the circles.

I think in Girls Scouts we used flour and water and made a stiff glue. Shoot that was too long ago to recamember.

Well... again against my better judgement... and dispite the other things needed to be accomplished... I did it anyway... [ is there a theme here ]
I started the coolroom gingerbread house... as part of a toutorial .. into psyche.. not technique,,, I was trying to figure out how this year I'd saucer some of my irregularly shaped planters I choose to bring downstairs.. in years past there would be one.. and I'd just put some plastic around the bottom .. but it never really worked well... but it was in the hallway ... this year I have 5 I brought down into the house... so I needed a way of containing them... I did have a copper pan I built for one .. but it was more expence than i wished to do for 5 of them... why not foam... I'd build a tray with raised edges out of foam..water tight like the pond.. so there I was buying sheets of 1" foam... and I thought it was likely more than one sheet... so I got two of them... and having some left over ... it's gingerbread house time...... we've just started... and have yet to add anything of color.. but here it is.. about 18" tall... and 20" X 20 "..
now for windows...doors.. and interior lighting... and some COLOR..
I was thinking of some real candy on it... coated with some poly so they don't disolve in the rain.... but likely just making them would be the way to go... excelent place for some clay polymer...
