Thanks, Sharon and Lee Anne. It is hand pieced. Crazy, huh?

Sharon, how wonderful that you have old family quilts!

Yes, I am interested in the old English paper piecing methods and reproducing the antique patterns. Smiling

Not so crazy, Janice, I only have hand pieced quilts, hand quilted too.
I have one that belonged to my Grandmother; it's 100 years old now. Still beautiful.

Do you use them Sharon?
All of the quilts my Mom has made for me she's made me swear to use them and not stash them away somewhere.

Oh,that is so great, Sharon! I didn't know that you quilted!

Love that you are hand piecing....there are so few of us..
You hand quilt, as well! WOW! Now that is really admirable! I have not attempted it.
Mine are machine quilted by a friend.

The local Quilting Bee has hand piecers, but we are a very small percentage of the Quilt Guild.

Lee Anne . . . They're everywhere. I rotate them off and on beds, as throws, one hangs on the wall. Here are a few of them, this is where I store those that aren't in use at any given moment.
All hand pieced, all hand quilted. I love them.
This picture isn't maybe appropriate for garden art, but since it's wintertime and since you asked I'll share. I have probably 50 of them, including a couple of wall hangings and some smaller lap quilts:

Beautiful quilts, all of them. I have none left that I've made and never took a picture. I do mostly baby quilts all by hand unless I'm not putting a border on it and then I cheat and machine sew all the layers together, but everything else is all by hand. I make my own patterns too. I've made one for every niece, nephew and grand neices and nephews in the families on both sides. That's a good 25 kids, the oldest just turned 20.

I do have loads of hand cut pieces that need to be put into something. just don't know what yet. My MIL cut them years ago,, so some of the fabric is about 50 years old.

Gordon, I meant that someone would walk by and not be able to resist taking your gingerbread house home! Buttles is way too busy to do it! I will tell you quickly that Tyler got a dog instead of a cat. The dog is a rejected narcotic dog. He would follow all instructions, as smart as a whip, but when locating drugs, he took them and would not release 'em.

Janice and Sharon, your quilts are so beautiful. I have a few from my aunt, none as pretty as those. And none with colors still so vivid.

Charleen, here's what we came up with. I bought a 4pk of colors at Hobby Lobby. I can't remember the name, but didn't start with a F. We started small. Only had time for one project. Will get more clay for the weekend. His parents are going to San Antonio for the volleyball finals.

Lovely quilt, Janice. That is a beautiful pattern.

This is one of my favorites from the 1930s. I don't recall if it belonged to grandmother or a great-aunt. The Spanish/Mexican themed backing is what intrigues me the most about it. I love that. But those types of designs were very popular in the 30s and 40s. ♥
