I don't do that 4 1/2 mile exercise walking route too often as it is just so darn far. But had to take advantage of the 60 degree weather. Remarkable for mid January.
I do walk with Lily often. Almost always over 2 1/2 miles. The 3 to 3 1/2 mile route is the most common.
I was really dragging bad today by the time we got home though.
Temp was 60° here yesterday. Plato got to visit briefly with one of his friends when we went by -
Later, that night...we were engaged in a throw and fetch game; the spiral tuggy landed next to a plastic gate section (to keep him out of our rock collection area) that he is mortally afraid of (gate sometimes falls over without any apparent reason)...he was just a-barking a storm at it (but wouldn't touch it).
Pics show him trying to enlist mom's help.
And, here's a front view of him (he's about to go into a shed mode, happens a couple times every year)
if we got up to 60 degrees this time of year, even I might consider going 4-1/2 miles!!
I still think you and Lily are amazing
Thanks!!
Not so sore this morning. I was plenty sore yesterday after I got home!
Lily would go 10 miles as she never gets tired and just absolutely loves to go on long walks. The longer the better in her opinion. So these exercise walks are good for both of us.
Today it is not as warm as yesterday but sunny and still plenty nice enough to get going on my exercise walking. My friend and I met up and walked our dogs so Lily did get her exercise. We managed 3 miles today. So not as much as yesterday but then I knew there was no way I could manage a walk as long as yesterdays was again today.

I fully sympathize with the shedding, Jack -- one of our collies is shedding, shedding, shedding; no matter how much I brush him, more still finds its way onto the carpet.
Poor Plato with the monster gate!

Loved the snow swimming dog. Very cute! Thanks for sharing that.
Rita! 4 and a half miles?? Holy smokes batman! I bet you slept good that night. Is it any wonder Lily was hungry?
Plato & the gate that stole his tuggy. Watch out Plato! That gate is going to eat you alive! They are so funny when they get it into their mind that some particular thing is going to tear them up if they get near it. Pearl's is measuring tapes. Don't get near that dog with a measuring tape! OH, and the remote control pointed AT her BUT ONLY by my husband. It's the silliest thing. She will lay almost touching the TV remote but if my husband points the business end of it toward her she gets all wide eyed & freaky & gets up & moves -- will not look that thing in the face. I can pick it up & point it at her & she's like, "Whaaaaat?" We tease her that daddy's going to change her into something else.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
Great day weather wise outdoors today so my friend and I got together and walked our dogs. Then I walked them home and Lily and I continued on some more exercise walking. Lily got treats from my friend too so I think she is extra happy today.
I think I better go and attempt to wash the car. It's horrible. The driveway from the highway to the sale barn is gravel. And mud. And puddles. And I even go S L O W up to where I can park. JC looks like he's been through a war and lost.
You don't want to even see my truck. It's a total different color. The gravel roads have slurry on top. Need rain to wash that off and vehicles won't get as dirty so quick. Cat's clean though.
Finally managed to get some pictures of Baby Girl. She showed up last year as a fearful, scrawny kitten but stayed around. Took us probably 6 months for her to let us pet her while she was eating through the door and we gradually worked our way up to where she demands attention.
Definitely happy and healthy. Need to work on being able to hold her and get her to the vet to be fixed. So far the toms around here haven't been lucky in getting her preggers yet.
She's a small cat compared to my old boys and something happened to her before she came to us because she can't meow. Occasionally she can get something out but then it's quite awhile before she can get any noise out again. She just opens her mouth to meow and nothing comes out. If she's hungry while we're outside she runs to the door and looks at it. She knows the food comes from inside somewhere.
