I agree about trying not to bid against folks I know. But also, I try not to bid against anybody at all. I like being the first bidder, and will rarely bid if someone (even if I don't know them) has already bid, and even rarer, will rebid if someone bids against me. On the other hand, I have 'lost' things I really wanted this way, but in my mind, it's the 'sacrifice' I make to not go overboard (hahahahaha) with daylilies.... Whistling

Meanwhile my wish list keeps growing, and growing..... ~Jan

I will be a bit cutthroat when bidding on stuff for work, but with daylilies and such, I do the same as Jan. For some reason, it feels more like a 'win' that way. Thumbs up

Hi guys, I'm looking at some of tink's auctions tonight. I'd like to bid on a couple that already have a bidder on them, so I thought I'd check to see if it's any of you. I don't want to up your bids. Just let me know if you are and I'll wait to see if she lists more. Thanks to all and blessings on this very cold winter night. It's actually spitting snow here. Mona

Mona, you are allowed to bid on anything you want, even if it is one of us. Don't feel guilty - after all, Tink deserves the most money she can get for her daylilies. You can choose to bid against me, and I didn't say that I never rebid, it's not often. If I want something bad enough, I will increase it. I will not hold it against you, or anybody else who outbids me.As far as I am concerned, go ahead and bid! ~Jan

I am usually not a fierce bidder because I have a set price in mind. If the bid goes over that price I usually quit unless I really really want the plant bad enough. On the other hand, I am a fierce bidder on liquidationchannel.com because when I am not buying daylilies, I am buying jewelry in the off season. I collect all kinds of different jewelry. The rarer the stone, the better. They have some terrific prices that can beat any retail store.

This is how an auction works. If you want it you bid to the highest you are willing and if it goes above you stop. It makes no matter who else is bidding as that is not the point of the auction. As with Tink there are others making a living or supplementing their living with this and if no one bids enough the auction dies. Keep bidding gang. Green Grin!

Ok, I know, I just don't want to up family when I just don't HAAAAVE to bid on something. It's just not polite. Now, if it's something that I must have and I'm not willing to chance it, well then, I'm no holes barred! Of course, money being a huge object for me, tells me most of the time, that I'll just have to wait.

Thanks tink for that info. I didn't know for sure. I did bid on Pandora's Treasure. It's one that I want for next year's pollen dabbing. I think it's just sooooo pretty. I'm hung up on orange and huge eyes and edges.

Thanks to all and blessings to each, Mona

Oh yeah! It's COLD!! We didn't get any snow, if so , it didn't stay around til daylight. About 10 miles up the road they got 2" on the high stuff. It sure is early for it to be snowing around these parts. I sure hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Oh but I think it is a sign of things to come. We will make it but will grumble all winter until we can see the green tips poking out of the ground.

Hi Stephanie, I just looked to see where you grow from. Oh me, I just bet my cold is nothing like yours!!! It's been hovering around 37 to 40 degrees today. I used to work with a lady that lived in Bozeman. She's a great lady. In 1995, I think it was, she still had snow in June. We had a many late night talk about that. I hope you don't have that kind of winter and I agree on the little green tips. There's nothing quite like seeming them come up every Spring.

Blessings, Mona

I live in a very small town. Guntown, MS It's in NE MS just 15 miles north of Tupelo, MS. That's where Elvis was born. It's a zone 7 on the maps. We can have some really cold weather but it usually in January, not November. We had over 30 days of 100+ degrees this summer, again not normal. Usual is about 10 days that hot.

I can understand the global warming thing and HOT weather, but not global warming causing it to be COLD!! We're still in the normal range so far for this winter weather except for the snow some of MS had last night. Maybe we will have our usual 20 degrees one day and then the next day might be 70 degrees or higher!!! That would be normal for us.

I'm glad I won Pandora's Treasure and congrats on you winning Tet LBB, Betty. I've eyed that one for along time myself. I just can't decide if I want to get it or not. There are so many new ones out there.

Mick Morry has got a bunch listed through PossumHollow. I just posted a link on a new page.

I hope everyone goes to bed happy tonight and all are warm and safe, Mona
