Yes, look at this link. She grows them in alpine beds. I went there the end of May. Took my breath away. You will get many ideas from her site for your concrete planters.

The nice part about the smaller species tulip is that they don't interfere with the other plants. The sedum are just coming out of dormancy when the tulips are blooming. The sedum roots don't seem to bother the sedum or semps.

The bhg August 2011 issue is featuring succulent containers. Happen to see the pics at the beauty parlor yesterday but didn't have time to read the articles.

I love tropicanna canna and didn't plant them last year and really missed them. I also usually buy ogon sedum but passed it up for a golden sedum that I found with no tag. It's a mounding annual and I just love it. That is why this year the tropicanna with golden sedum and oxalis is my favorite combination in my garden this year.

I think my urns are beautiful, Iove all my head planters, but my favorite container is the one that makes me LOL each morning the second I step out the door. A winner by far cause it always puts a big smile on my face a lets me start my day with a god sense of humour.

I really wanted one of these hanging baskets made of golf tires last year and didn't have it in the budget to get it this year either. They are sold at these websites and I was told the cheapest site isn't very reliable. http://www.ponyswings.com/trop...
http://www.recycledcreations.c... and http://www.nauticaldecoronline...
The red bird is my favorite hanging basket.

My heart just started racing thinking about it. Hurray!
I think this is going to be one of my favorites this year. I love the smell of geraniums.
