Every year I make up my own hanging baskets for the front of the house. In the fall I usually plant up several hanging baskets with Tete a Tete or some other miniature daffodils. Then I hang them out here in February when they start blooming.

Oh Connie those are beautiful. What a great idea planting the daffodils in containers for spring. I never would have thought of that.

Thanks Lynn and Allison. The mini daffs allow me to be the first in the neighborhood to have blooming hanging baskets Big Grin . I plant them in the fall and then place the baskets back under the eaves and give them occasional water over the winter.

Brilliant Connie, the first signs of spring after a long drag winter right in front of your picture window. I really like the ferns below too! Trying to add some to my garden this year.

I've been trying for years to get a pure white hardy hibiscus. This year I purchased one in a 2" pot from Michigan Bulb. I've been nursing it along. It is a mere stick (probably needs staking) but I expected a bush. Guess this will be a wait and see if it really is hardy here, if it bushes out or remains a tall upright. This is a 6am snapshot of my first bloom.

Forgot to mention datura was blooming too and it's a good thing I had to get up to let the dogs out cause I probably would have missed it. This reseeds every year in a 26" container.

Susan those are both beautiful. The datura looks all glowing/shiny. Does it just come back every year from the previous year seeds? Left outdoors?

Lynn while datura is not hardy in my zone 5b, it reseeds in my containers as well as all along the side of my house. The datura hedge lines the path to my back gate and entrance to the garden where there is no water source. Each fall I do a spring cleanup by removing the ripe seed pods and scattering over the bed then removing the mother plant. Mother nature at her best.

I'm hooked. I lost track at how many times I've gone back and looked at those photos Evan.

My tiny coleus cuttings are alive and I think growing roots. This is another first for me. Having coleus that are alive and healthy and starting cuttings from them. They are two weeks old now. Lovey dubby

Thanks all. I've gone back to look at the originals a time or two myself. Here's one I discovered the other day.

I'd never have guessed a Heuchera could be that small. I must have spent 20 min. snapping pics of just those 2 planters. Too much to see, too little time and hot!

I'll be heading back soon to take pics of their succulent gardens. These planters were on the path leading thru it. Here's a link to some other pics at Cottage gardening.

That is a tiny Heuchera. Wonder what the flower looks like? I have one that has tiny leaves, called 'Canyon Duet'.
