Muddy1 said:Today's addition to my new shed: "Rainhandlers", gutter alternatives that are supposed to disperse rain running off the roof so that it sprays out in a 2-3' band. If they work as planned, it'll keep the plants along the shed's side from drowning!

That little solar panel powers a light bulb in the shed.

Susan that is a great idea. Especially like the inside light idea Thumbs up

It sure would be nice to have a light in the shed.
My Kitchenaid fridge was the first I had with a light in the freezer, and I loved it; I also love my under-cabinet lights in the kitchen. And my eyes aren't getting any better....
Plant it and they will come.

I guess I'm not the only one who sometimes needs to find things in the shed when it's dark outside!
The windows let in a fair amount of light, but I sometimes find myself turning on the light during the day, too....it definitely helps my aging eyes Smiling

I agree You can never have too much light. Smiling I put the under cabinet, a LED strip and love it, it's also dim-able. Now I want one over the sink. I think I can incorporate it into the pot rack so it's not to noticeable.
When I'm looking for something in the garage I often use my LED head lamp to see what I'm looking at. Thumbs up

Robin, what is quilting? Isn't that the part where you sew through all the layers with embroidery thread and tie the knots in it?

Ric, that is tying a quilt to hold the three layers together. Quilting used to be done by hand in various patterns to hold or enhance the quilt. Now there are large machines that do the quilting, the quilter can use a pantogram pattern, there are computer guided machines, and there are people who are real artists who freehand guide the machines, some of their work is amazing. The prices of the machines are pretty amazing too, some start at $16,000.

First pic is hand quilting, second is what an artist can do with a machine.

I figured you'd have to send it out... but didn't know if you'd been (successfully) tempted to invest in one of those machines!

Jill, I am not that crazy. You need a large room for a machine that big and my living area is too small, as is my bank account.

I watched a PBS program once where they were showing quilting machines. Even the largest ones can't do the whole quilt at once. That's some serious floor space!

WOW, That is a lot different than some of the old quilts I've seen, that were all done by hand. They weren't Amish or Mennonite. They were done by people in Appalachia. Many were rather plain but a few had patterns and more color. Smiling

Congratulations! When is the wedding? There are lots of fast-growing vines, so maybe you could buy an arch and get it covered with something pretty by the big date.

my thought also... big green hops leaves would make a great background for other flowers on The Day... Hops grows at lightning speed, although not quite as fast as that wild morning glory type thing that tries to take over my garden every time I blink.

Congratulations!!

Plant it and they will come.

Congratulations Lisa. I haven't built an arbor but there are lots of ideas on Pinterest if you want to go the DIY route. Earlier this spring I bought a metal gazebo arch thing at Aldis, pretty cheap too, and planted morning glories to grow up it. Looks nice and might be an option for you guys. This photo was taken when I installed it before the morning glories grew, but this gives you an idea of what it looks like.

I built an arbor for Jamie's wedding and did the flowers. Deb wanted lavender silk roses so she could keep them. I think I did a small fresh bouquet for her to throw. Since I had to reboot my new computer ( thanks Win 10) I don't have any pics. I haven't tried to reload them yet. Maybe Holly will oblige. Crossing Fingers!

If you're thinking twigs, haven't fdone it but tginking it mighth be easier to form twigs and grapevine around an extisting metal trellis... more likely to be symmetrical and stand up!
