Every one has such gorgeous clumps! So nice to see the plants as a whole. Mine are all in a mixed plant cottage type garden setting.
Limited daylily space, so good " clumpers" are very important.
I have just a few clumps to share. The first three are in large 18inch pots and the second two are in the ground.

I love seeing clump shots. This is Saratoga Springtime. I keep it around because it is such an early bloomer. End of May here in zone 5 and has had at least 20 blooms every day this month.

Beautiful Edgings: I posted this on June flowers, but it is the clump. Interesting how the flowers are growing in a circle.

All day light from the sun? I find even with 6-7 hours of sun, they will still face or lean toward the side with the most hours of sunlight.

I have some that seem to face in only one direction toward the sun, but others like my 'Beautiful Edgings' seem to be able to face in all directions.

Taking clump pictures is putting my photo taking skills to the test. It is really hard to get decent photos of clumps!

Great looking clumps Regina. Phenomenal Phoenix is one I keep thinking I need, but boy am I out of space. I've posted Saratoga Springtime on another thread but want to add it here too. 45 blooms 2 days ago, 40 yesterday and this many today

That's beautiful, Susan!

I received Phenomenal Phoenix from Cindy (hemlady) last year and it settled in great this year. It is really tall with huge blooms that are well spaced. I can probably share some fans with you later this summer if you'd like to have some. Smiling

This is the largest clay pot I have. Been around about 40 years now. There were three, but only this one survives with only some dings :). It's a hernia inducing size pot when filled with planting medium. I have it sitting in a salvaged frame that once held a big Japanese clay cooker. I usually try to con someone into helping me move it if they show up at the right time and I'm wanting to relocate it very far. If they don't it can take a while. The frame makes it a lot easier to move. But it elevates the container about 3-4", so the bottom isn't sitting directly on the ground. I don't think the bucket is working to well for scale here. I set it in front and I think it needed to be on the side. The clump growing is 'Flamingo Flambeau' and this is typical for it both last year and this year. Very showy.
Thumb of 2017-06-09/needrain/728354

'Chesapeake Crablegs' without the bucket for scale. These cattle tubs are big and heavy, but they slide easily. I'm really happy with this clump since this is the first year the plant has done what it's supposed to do.
Thumb of 2017-06-09/needrain/e2383f

'Biloxi Memories' is getting ready to put on a show if nothing happens :). I decided to crop out half the bucket. It works as well, I think.

The thumbnails really don't work for my clump photos, do they?

Have you ever tried using a dolly of some sort to move the pots around. I strained my back this week so I am sympathetic toward any heavy lifting efforts! You are getting some really nice clumps!

I have a garden wagon. It's probably in the background of some of my photos Smiling . I use a trailer ramp and the wagon to move the big tree pots. I can walk them up the ramp 'til they're on the wagon. I know that ramp is showing up in the background of some of my photos. Looks sort of like a ladder in them. I can lift them enough to get them off the wagon and onto the ground and then I can slide them into place. The big clay pots are awkward, but mostly I can lift and move them - just not easily. The one with 'Flamingo Flambeau' is just enough larger that it's a bit much. The worst ones are some big ceramic containers. They have no hand holds a lot of the time and are slick. Plus they will break and I'd rather not do that. Even though most were purchased at sale prices, they are still more expensive than some of the other containers. I'd really prefer to grow them in the ground, but then if the deer locate them, they'll be history.
