Anticipation:
I have been keeping an eye on these for weeks, finally looks like it is getting close to bloom time. Can't wait to see what they will look like. I have to see if I can find the package label now, being I can't find a marker anywhere. I'm thinking Freesias of some kind?
Edited: Nothing on the package except 25 bulbs, the photo showed a mixture of colors, maybe the other colors bloom at a different time?

From the picture, my guess would be Crocosmia? Freesia usually have all the flower buds on the top side of the stalk.
But you'll know for sure when they open! Big Grin

Thanks, yes it could be. Looks like I planted both back in 2015.
Edited to add: It appears that Freesia are much shorter, I think these were planted in the front row. So the plants in the photo have to be Crocosmia, they are as tall as some Glads. Much taller than the short plants in the front row were back in the spring.

I like that back side coloration of Golden Splendor Ginny. I like the other ones too, except, almost...well I'm glad you got that Dave's trade and I didn't. LOL.

Glad you're able to ascertain Gloriosa progress Rj. Their bloom should last well into Sept.
Couple of mine are advancing nicely.

Ginny, I'm just no lover of pink basically, if it is in the garden it's usually referred to as 'off-purple' or maybe 'rose colored'.
Here's the NOID I got from Dave >

Granted the one behind the Noid is named 'Pink Perfection' but the reality is more purplish, at least in my imagination...

That noid is a stunner!

No problem with pink here, I love it! These OTs came from Faraway several years ago. They're Japanese hybrids and I don't recall which is which, but I believe the names are Madame Butterfly, and Geisha Girl.

@jmorth - Eucomis "Oakhurst" has pretty much disappeared over here. Introduced after "Sparkling Burgundy" it turned out to be a vigorous grower that was shy to bloom (outside of the southwest corner of the UK at least) and when it did bloom it was certainly inferior. Here's a photo of the two from last year...........

Do you have "Sparkling Burgundy" over there?

Another question! Have you grown Eucomis from leaf cuttings?
