You guys, so excited, the cape fuchsia seeds I collected actually sprouted today. I was expecting them to be sterile since it's a fancy hybrid. No idea what the flowers from this will look like, but I'm exited to find out and pass on some of these seeds to someone else who is similarly adventurous. ;) Cape fuchsias are one of my favorites in my garden, and hummingbirds LOVE them. They produce a lot of nectar and are just perfect for little hummingbird beaks. I'll add these guys to my list tonight. Lovey dubby

I'm hoping to add more wishlist seeds this weekend. I also need to decide soon which daylily crosses to add. I've gotten way behind in that!

@Joolie I only ever knew that plant as Bergenia cordifolia. Had no idea that if you rubbed 2 wet leaves together it would sound like a pig. If I get some to grow I'll have to try it.😊

You better believe that's ALL I'm going to be doing when that plant grows for me. Yeah, you heard me, pigsqueak is all mine. I will totally fight you all for the pigsqueak. Rolling on the floor laughing

Edit: Hubby, this morning: "Does this plant have any *other* redeeming qualities?" Me: "You mean, other than squeaking like a pig?" Him: "...Yes, other than squeaking like a pig." Me: "Does it NEED to?" Him: *stare* Me: "Yes fine it's pretty and also bees. BUT PIGSQUEAK!"

Do you need to ferment tomato seeds or can you just clean them when you eat the fruit?

You get faster germination from fermented tomato seeds , The seeds coats have a growth suppressing chemical ,
Either works though washing them or fermenting them Non fermented seeds can take longer to germinate ,as said

The great white and Broad ripple came out good ,

Wow, I had no idea, thanks for that, @jimard8. Until swapping, I've never really tried to save seeds before. There's SO much I still don't know, and am not always 100% sure how to find out. A lot of horticulture information is still more in book form than online, if the stuff I want to know is out there at all (like my silly quest for plants with pollen high in omega 3 fatty acids) I've been trying to figure out how to properly pollinate my bomarea distichifolia so I can get seeds from this GLORIOUS little plant, but paintbrush, pipe cleaner and little buzzing bee tool (yes, I finally traded in my toothbrush for a little AeroGarden bee) have not convinced the plant to make the little orange fruits it will make if it's properly pollinated. I have got so far to go with so much of this.

I told hubby what I really wish I could do is just hire a bumblebee. I'd give her anything she wanted, anything. I would build her a little bumblebee door. I'd feed her anything she asked for. I would bury all the teapots she wanted for the next generation of bees. She could live in the lap of luxury!

(I would pay extra if she let me pet her soft fuzzy fur) Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

a very pretty plant Smiling Only I have no idea what it's Ecuador pollinator would be , I'm presuming that and temperature would be a clue and part of the reason of the plant being rare.
I have done Peace lily from seed , of which I have had no success doing in over a decade ,
The Spider plant ,only a few of the seed ovary are usually any good , however they start in water .
I had a polka dot plant and a geranium growing ,however the pets knocked them off the porch ,
I had a three year old geranium as a houseplant , not sure what happened to that when it died , However down south I have seen them as an 8 ft tree , A few years old then planted outside and they take the lighter frosts , at least some of them
My Kanakee mallow The first no germination , the last four two of which I still have , i found to start them I had to mix lime rock soil , that packs hard , like porous rock , poof up they sprouted ,
Tons of info , best to keep it light ,

Hmmmm. I imagine hummingbirds pollinate it. I wonder if I should maybe wet my paintbrush to simulate a little hummingbird tongue. It might need moisture? It really is one of the most beautiful plants and so happy in my generally cold house. It's under a grow light so it just flowers all the dang time. The lack of free flowing pollen is part of what makes it a great indoor plant. If I ever get seeds, I'll definitely swap some, this plant seeds to be in more houses.

I was so excited about the bonus pack seeds I got from Chiltern I ordered 3 more packs last night. I sent them a note saying they were for the swap and to please send them as quickly as the last ones. Crossing Fingers! for this one too. That's 30 more pack of seeds for us!

I can't quit looking at seed sights. OMG. They're less than daylilies though. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Yes they are! But then you have to plant the seeds! I'm still looking for homes for my Potentilla seedlings!

I'm waiting until Chiltern's Black Friday sale to order more seeds. With your orders you'll definitely be getting a catalog for 2018. It's a dangerous thing!😄
