I think Phil has decided to stay. He is so relaxed I was able to feed him by hand. I decided to use a cup as his bill looked like it could do some hand damage !

No Becky I have not tried that yet. He was pretty hungry, I think, the day he let me feed him. After an incident with the CAT last night he has not been around today. DH chased the neighbors cat off at 9:00 last night after we heard Phil screeching. Herb did spot the bird very early this AM. Seemed ok but has been in hiding the rest of the day.

Just had a Phil sitting ! He seems unharmed by the neighbors cat.

Wandering cats People shouldn't allow their domestic cats to wander about. My neighbor's 2 cats regularly behead dove and others. We neighbor's find them in our yards all the time. Glad Phil is in good hands.

I agree Susie. We kept our cat inside. Lived to be 19 and did not seem to mind one bit.

I wonder if Phil could have a cage to sleep in at night? A really large one like 5 feet by 3 feet. Just thinking. I like Phil too much to see him vanish.

When we were making friends with a semi-wild duck we sat on the ground in the same place and position everyday with bread crumbs. He came to eat right away but it took us 3 weeks to get him to allow us to pet him. It wasn't much of a cuddle but after that we could touch him a little bit.

We will keep that in mind Becky. He is ok so far and eating well. I went back to the thawed out frozen corn. He did not care for the Goose and Duck food. Now I need to adopt a Goose and duck.

Linda I am not surprised that he turned his nose up at that food, after all he has his pride, he doesn't look the least bit like a goose or a duck.
