Thumb of 2012-06-26/keyi/4ca339My Hurricane is blooming. Such little delicate flowers. No offsets and both of my rosettes are blooming. Glare Lovey dubby Both a sad moment and a happy one. It bites that they die after blooming!

Just leave it when it is done, you may find little babies on the stem way later. It sure is a pretty little one.

That happened with my Raspberry Ice. I did end up with one small offset this spring. And it looks like it is growing. Hurray!

Three years back, I had a rescue semp from WM that grew large, then produced a huge flower spike. I was trying to get some offsets, but did not do a vertical division, thinking that it would produce some on a second flower spike. I cut the first one off. The second flower spike was also very large and produced no offsets either, so I lost the plant.

Here are some pics of the spikes and flowers.

That sure is a large bloom stalk twit. I love the close up of the blooms, so pretty. Sad that the entire plant was lost.

Remember that it put up two flower stalks. The second was bigger than the first. The rosette sure exhausted itself on the way out.

Pacific Rim is a great color . All are gorgeous, Chris!

Wonder if we can dry the flowers? Thought of trying that in my flower press??

I was surprised by the color of Pacific Rim. I like that one too.

You should give drying them a try. Sounds like a great idea! Thumbs up
