Took this photo of Exorna in flower.
It was a late November rescue, she did really well once the wet stuff was removed.

Very nice Sherri. Don't forget to put it in the database entry for Exorna. I can see the rosettes and they look very healthy.
Interesting how the blooms can vary from one semp to another. Lovey dubby

I took photos today. I have a yellow bloom. Hurray!

I have yet to conquer that particular task. That is next on my list of small victories. How do I put a photo in the data base?

Hurray! It's easy Sherri. Go to the plant in the database that you want to add a photo to.
1. Towards the bottom of the page you will see 'Upload a Photo'. Click on it.
2. Click on the green upload image button. This will open to your computer hard drive. Go to the place you keep your photos. Click on the one you want to add. Wait until it downloads, doesn't take long, then fill in the information.

I'm going to be getting a LOT of blooms this year.
Unfortunately, some of mine are going to bloom out. Cherry Frost, which was a $1 Timberline plant last summer is completely blooming. A few of the singles I got from the co-op are doing the same. Oh well, at least more of those co-op plants put out chicks first.

So far I don't seem to have any this year that want to bloom out the entire crop. It was a terrible problem last year.

I'm having lots and lots of blooms this year too. I was wondering if the unusually hot weather contributed to that. It seems like the ones that are the most stressed are the ones with the most blooms.

I'm having the same problem as last year....lots of blooms. Although, not as severe as last year. Last year several semps went entirely to bloom. This year more than half of the rosettes have blotted. I started cutting off the heads of the the rosettes before they progressed too far. It has been very hot here. Most of my semps that bloomed are growing in my xeric garden which receives the most sun. My guess is that the weather has a big part in stressing the rosette into blooming. Temps here have been in the high 80 to high 90's. Blinking

Sad We're entering a hot and humid weather here in DC (gets even worst in July). I've noticed some of my semps are stressing due to the full sun but only two are going to bloom thus far. I'll be on the look out for anymore blooming ones now that I know that stress and heat maybe the cause. Thanks for the info.

Kim do you have an area without full sun that you can move them to?

Not really, but I am using seashells to cover the stressed ones. Hopefully by next year they'll be matured/well established that full sun will be no problem for them. Meanwhile, if it gets any worse than I'll build them a temporary screen.
