Peas are done. Last harvested today and vines going to my chicken run composer.

I would like to try a fall crop and would be interested in comment for fall planting in zone 8.

I have done Fall planting but of course not in your zone. Thing with fall is to get your timing right to get a decent crop. I never get as much as I do in the spring.

With the way the climate has been changing, its really hard to give specific times, but all I can say is early! The earlier the better. As the low temps here begin to be consistently in the 60's, going down, seems to do well for me. In the past anyway....Who knows what our future will bring...We didn't have any winter this year, so I'm not sure what the future will hold. Sadly, I'm not feeling optimistic. All I can say is try to take advantage of your coolest temps. They seem to be fewer and farther between lately. The cooler your temps, the better!

I'm on boarder of sunset zones 8 & 9.
I plant in September to November. For early spring harvest. Frosts down to 18 f, doesent faze them. You basically want to plant them 6 weeks before cool/cold weather sets in.
Harvest will usually start February or March.

There you go. @GardenerBob
