Hi : Arlene 😎
Homemade fudge 😋. Yep, to die for. See's candy, is the second best.

My two sisters, 7 and 11 older than me , did all the cooking, as I was growing up. I watched em all the time. Especially ! Chocolate chip cookies, my favorite. Probably the first thing I learned to make.

Any ways... I learned to make lots of things.
So, why not fudge ? Shrug! ?
To Surprise Everybody. nodding

I used the hand written recipe my sister had.
Read it. Said to self.
Well, HAY 😀 !!! A piece of cake.

I was a stupid teenage. What can I say ?
All recipe said was 350 degrees.
It, didn't say hard ball, soft ball, kick ball, or even foot ball.
WHY ? Because ? Any, idiot, is suppose to know, you don't bake fudge. Whistling Whistling Whistling

Hay !!! I'LL tell ya something else. To this day, I've never made fudge.
Gee ?🤔???
Do y'all think I traumatized myself ???

Six foot, gee ! Make mine, at three, four feet, sound like babies.

Thanks You for your post, because I thought I was goning to get, whip-lashed from others saying, that there was no way, that I could have 4 year old collards.

My sister can't wait to get hers as tall as mine, so she doesn't have to bend over to pick them.

Ta ta for now 👍👍
😎😎😎

No kiddin'!!! When I asked the old guy about it he seemed like there wasn't anything unusual about it..."I just go out and pull some leaves off when I want a mess of'em." That was probably three or four years ago. I know they've done a lot of remodeling to that house (it used to be a church that one of my childhood best friend's daddy was pastor of...they lived in an apartment attached to the back of it. We used to build massive cities for our cars and trucks and army men underneath it!!!<grin>) But, the church moved and the building was sold and turned into a regular house. I think I'll ride by this evening or in the morning and see if possibly those old collard plants are still there...that would be incredible!!!!

I heard there are phone numbers that you can call for issues like this... Whistling

I've got to say that I'm glad you shared this...in case I ever decide to make fudge!!! I'm all ears!

I really love the purple flowered snap peas. They are my favorites just because I love those flowers.

Around here about the earliest we can plant our peas is mid March. Most years I get them planted about then but other years are crappy with snow still on the ground. Which means I have to wait.

Hi there Kitty 😀
I planted snow peas in November, two months late.

Hear they are on February , 4th.

They have grown, twice that tall now.

Blooms will be soon.

It's dark now, so no pics.

You'll have short crop.

Planting time for zone 8A . Is, Sept to Jan. Frost doesn't bother them.

Bye Bye. 😀

Anyone know what would mow peas down but not eat them? It's not leaf cutter ants.

New peas planted. I have to cover them with compost. I'll wrap the cages with chicken wire too.

Ewe 😭😭😭 , miss kitty : that make me 😟 . No mad Angry !!!
It's, Dirty, Stinking, CUT WORMS ###
Only organic way that I know of, is to put toothpicks at each seedling, but ! good luck with that, since seeds usually come up at nite.

Hears what I have to do, every time I plant seeds.
Feed the bugs.
After I plant seeds, I sprinkle on top a bit of bug granules, I believe there called Bug-getta granules. It takes care of cut worms, earwigs, and sow/pill bugs. Then also, a bit of snail/slug pellets.
All labeled, safe for vegetables.

I pulled mine out about 2 weeks ago. We had the warmest February on record and both green peas and snow peas were rather toasted.

On to the cucumbers and beans!!

Arlene 😞. What a bummer, with the peas. Well better luck next year, but all's not lost, peas are good for the soil. 👍😀

Carol 😀 did you get a good harvest, I hope. 😀😀😀

Ed ! (If, I can remember D'Oh! )
I resemble that statement.
I'm so bad at remembering, I have several little lists, of same size, titled : grocery, home depot, sams club, etc. I use a binder clip to clip them all together, and keep, my lists !, Next to my wallet.

Holy Cow 😮?!?!? I just remembered something ! A few, well, I won't lie ! SEVERAL weeks ago. I bought a book, I'd like to read. It's something about, increasing your memory. Shrug!
BUTT, NOW !..?🤔?... I'm in a dilemma Blinking Confused , when to get around to reading it. Rolling on the floor laughing

@texaskitty111 Looking at your peas I'm wondering....do you have ground squirrels (chipmunks) or gray squirrels around your yard?

We do, but I finally saw the culprit. Leafcutter ants. They seem to be everywhere this year. I covered the peas with surround and they are growing back.
