I bought a ton of older ones this year. Im getting tired of dead daylilies. Looking for tried and true. Seeds are for the new genetics. Not that I didnt have to have a few new ones....and then there is MECA for my best buying What I did do, is buy WAY to many dormants. They last about three to five years here, get smaller every year, but sometimes you just want to see the blooms, so I get them.

I really like it and it seems to bloom pretty true to its description. I just don't want to get it if it's a poor performer.

Do they die off because of the heat? I have some dormant varieties and this is my first year - planting both in Spring and just recently, so it's been mostly foliage. I should be ecstatic if I even *live* at in the same home for five years (we've moved a lot but finally bought this place in Dec 2015! ) so I guess I'll tolerate a five-year plant

Seriously though I want to thank all of the daylily lovers on here for all of the information, help and advice over the past year and a half. I've learned a lot I had no clue about. Now if I could just slow down the buying because of it

I also love DIGITAL DYNAMICS. The blooms are smaller (and I've been crossing them with some minis and smalls), and it is a dormant, but it came through the last year just fine and still looks good. We rarely get down to freezing here, so hard dormants really don't work here. But so far DIGITAL DYNAMICS is a winner!

Thanks Betty — I was nervous to buy it before hearing from anyone but I thought — what the heck I can always put it in a container and it'll get cold enough here by the lake in the winter. Thanks for the heads up—I can't wait to get it and watch it bloom!
