I don't mind the rocks -- most of it can be used for our borders -- I love that so much of it has mica in it (the shimmery/shiny stuff they put in makeup!) so it sparkles in the sun...we even decorate the rocks LOL
It's a pain, though, when trying to plant bulbs and what-not without amending first with organic material. My stargazer and casablanca lily bulbs didn't even think about putting out buds because the ground had compacted so much over one season
(I've been waiting 2 years for blooms!!)
I learned my lesson and dug them up -- I'll move them to the other lily bed. We've learned our lesson; if we want to have thriving plants, we need to add organic material to almost every area on this property
I planted Apricot Jade and Francois Verhaert and can't wait to see everything next year!!!
