I'm awaiting delivery of Russian Easter and Some What Odd. I've been disappointed with my existing daylilies so far this summer. Very few blooms.

Haley have you tried any fertilizer ?

How long have you had your existing daylilies? Are they planted in full sun? Do they get plenty of water every week?

I forgot to say that Thorhalla and Purple Maze arrived almost two weeks ago, and they are really good looking plants. I hope there will be scapes but with the terrible early and lasting heat going on, it may not happen. However, Meme's Garden Party and Voluptuous Blonde who were planted late May both have two scapes, hooray.

Received some of the Daylily's I won on the LA from Packrat Tuesday.
Many of you may know, but for those whom don't, Packrat are the Fleming's, Cindy and Randy of Dragon's Meade Daylilys.

Why are there two June Blooms threads?

Last year I ordered four daylilies from Bill Maryott through Schreiner's Iris Gardens, who now exclusively grow his daylilies. Last year was their first with growing daylilies and it was a bad one with way too much rainfall, and as a result they were only able to ship one of the four plants, his new intro TREMBLER; and it grew really well and gave me some wonderful blooms earlier this spring. And to my surprise, today a box from Schreiner's showed up at my door, and it was the three remaining plants I ordered last year: LEGENDARY, LOTTA DOTTA and TOTAL CHAOS. And they also included one of his 2018 intros as a gift: IMPETUOUS. All of them are at least double fans, with two of them triples.

So even though it took quite a while (like a year), I am really quite happy with my Schreiner's experience and would order through them again.

I just won my first seed auction of the season. It wasnt anything like I promised myself I would only buy. Ive got a shopping bag of seeds in the refig., and this is becomming a problem. Its just it was Richs first auction of the year, and I needed a fix. Now for James and Steve to get my blood flowing. Im just too old and broke for this.

I have the same problem -- fridge full of seeds, garden full of pods, and yet each year I end up purchasing a whole bunch of seeds through the Lily Auction. I always start out saying I won't or I'll only get a couple, but then start telling myself that these are crosses of daylilies I'll never own but really want... and away I go!

Before I gave my extra seeds away I thought about just scattering them like grass seeds and just seeing what the result would be? It would have probably resulted in the birds and other critters having a feast.

But look at all the options you have when it's time to plant seeds!

I had a couple of 'flats' of seedlings I've been keeping alive in large Jamba Juice cups for something three years-it's like a DNA repository. Yesterday I trashed most of them, but kept three cups of seedlings to to grow out. Sometimes you won't know which plants are good or poor parents until you've seen a few of them, so it helps to hang onto the sibs and half-sibs. Crammed 5-10 seedlings to a cup, and in half-shade, they don't take up much space or resources.

I'm too impatient to wait for that many seeds
