There was a dusting of snow overnight. For some reason, there is more in the fenced garden area.

No. More. Snow! Sighing!

In Virginia, it is 78. High of 81, low of 58. Less than two days left here in Mexico. It is a hot and dry 87, with a low of 51. Humidity is 15% here as compared to Virginia's 39%.

With everyone in the threat of more severe weather, stay safe! Group hug

It got a lot warmer today - high of 75! I actually would prefer it to be a little cooler and another 1/2 inch of rain would be helpful, but ... Cooler weather is predicted for Tuesday onward but no rain in the forecast. Good for a gradual snow melt, I guess.

Rain, rain and more rain...

Tomorrow's the only day this week that is supposed to have no rain.

Nope. This year was the very first time I lost an Iris to rot and I'm pretty sure it was of my own doing (planted a tad too deep and didn't keep the mulch off it). I am very fortunate to never had had rot issues.

It's raining here today. But between 6 and 7 PM there is supposd to be a break in the rain, and it will be the right temperature for me to go out and spray my nemotodes on the irises. I hope it's not too late for them to be effective against emerging iris borer worms.

High of 67, currently 62. Low is slated to be 40.

It has been bright and beautiful, humid through the days, with storms popping up at night.

Still have not gotten any substantial rain to water the plants, so guess who is doing that today? Whistling

Here is a quote today from the Washington Post.
"D.C. residents are living through the warmest year on record.
The numbers: 2023 is running more than 5 degrees above average. Temperatures have been above average on 77% of days through Sunday.
Why it matters: Persistent unseasonable warmth in the region led to a nearly snowless winter, an early start to spring and several pollen explosions that included Friday's highest tree pollen count since 2010."

My irises are budding a whole month earlier than they should. This climate change is happening way too fast.

Today's high is predicted to be 45°, with a low of 28°.
The highest temperature all week is predicted to be 70° on Saturday. A nice cool spring here, so far. Daffodils are still in bloom, as usually they are done by now. The hellebores are going like crazy. However the bearded irises are not close to blooming yet. Maybe this year they will have a long bloom period if it stays cool. I can never predict the weather, and apparently the "experts" cannot either. We were "supposed" to have snow last night. If there was any, I sure didn't see it. However there was evidence of light rain. We got about a half inch.

59 degrees here, but it feels warmer when I am weeding and the sun is on my back. Apparently we got a trace of rain during the night. It would be very nice to get a quarter or a half inch of rain but there is no rain predicted for the rest of April. We haven't gotten significant rain since March 27. The top two inches of the soil is dry - weeds no longer pull out easily.

It has been an unusually cool March and April, leading to a delayed iris bloom. The upside is that the few blooms that are open last for much longer. Thumbs up

None of my bearded iris are in bloom yet. I didn't even see any close, yet! I am liking this cool spring weather...as long as it doesn't go backwards into winter. The blooms will be late, but hopefully be long-lasting.

My littles are on time, as opposed to my daffs which were a MONTH early. However, the TBs are over two weeks early which I'll always appreciate anyway.

Weather is unseasonably warm here, though more average here. 75 currently, high of 77 and a low of 47.

Red flag warning for our county yet again. (No burning, as a risk for potential wild fire spawning)
