That functionality where you click on a thumbnail image and it opens full size in a little window in your browser is called the lightbox. This morning I rewrote our lightbox tool.

The new re-write is MUCH better. It's much faster, looks better, and it greys out the background to make the photo stand out better.

Also, when you open the image full size, you can click on the image to close it. You can also click anywhere outside the image to close it. Lastly, you can hit the Escape key to close it.

If you find any problems with it, please let me know!

One more feature of it: if your screen is very small, it will automatically display the image in a smaller size, rather than making you have to scroll to the right to see the rest of it. That, to me, is a really nice feature.

I've already seen it do that! I was thinking...WHAT is that? It's great!

A great feature!
Thought I'd lost my mind when I discovered it, though.

Until now I didn't know about the change, so before when I clicked on a thumbnail and my page went grey I thought my computer was freezing. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Is that Swiss chard growing in your hugelkultur bed, Dave?

And my screen doesn't go gray, stays the same. Everything else works though.

Hurray! I knew you had done something! I took this photo earlier today of a Common Grackle perched in the bottlebrush tree and I posted it on the Gardening for Birds, Butterflies & Bees forum and it looks so much better than on my laptop! Thanks Dave!

"finished product" looks great, but it seems slower for me...but then I AM still on dial-up and today has been cloudy and yucky. Maybe work better tomorrow? IF we have good weather which doesn't look likely Shrug!
