I see you have time on your hands Dave. Rolling on the floor laughing Wow, fast worker! First a programme to make " into inches, now this!

I find the photos come up really fast sometimes, other times it thinks a while. I thought it could be the first viewing which was slow but that isn't consistent with all the photos I've opened more than once, some are slow the second time.

I think it takes longer than it used to on my computer, and the enlarged photos are much smaller than before.

That's hard to judge now that all of them open the same way. There's no way of comparing the two, and my visual memory isn't that good.

I think the photos are taking longer to load, and personally I do not like the way the page goes to grey, I thought it was perfectly fine the way it was. I do not find the photos look any better than before. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. IMHO.

Well, it was indeed broke for Chrome, and as I was fixing it I went ahead and did a full overhaul of the system.

I don't know why it's taking longer for some of you. For me, it's faster. In fact, it snaps open with alarming speed. Confused

I'm having no problem with it.
It's quick to open, quick to close from anywhere on the image.

The page doesn't fade to gray but not a problem. Might have to do with my iMac.
It's also very clear but like zuzu I can't remember that I had a clarity problem before.

Alarming? Hilarious! Somehow I can't imagine you being alarmed by any speed, Dave.

It seems really fast to me also, photo's open immediately upon clicking.

I'm actually not exagerating. It surprised me the first time because it was so fast, I wasn't expecting it. It still surprises and pleases me to see it snap open.

But I have been using chrome lately. It's fastest in chrome. In firefox I note that it is a bit slower.

The problem is that it's waiting to load up and display the image first. Then it shows it to you.

In the old way, it would open the window FIRST, then load the pic, then show it to you. So you got an immediate open but then waited for the image to load. Now you get nothing until the image loads, then the open.

I do like being able to click on any part of the box to close it. Before, I had to scroll up or down to find the X.

It seems to me that I used to see more detail in the enlargements and usually enlarged rose photos so that I could see the subtle veining on the petals. Now the enlargements are only slightly larger than the thumbnails.

I've never heard of Chrome, I have Firefox and Safari, most of the time using Safari and I love how the photo snaps right open. It seems like the photo just jumps right off the page. Thumbs up

Chrome is made by google. I've recently taken a liking to it solely due to its speed. It's simply faster than Firefox, hands down. I like my pages to move quickly.

I'm looking at other ways of doing this lightbox, however, because images are a core of this site and it's important that they work flawlessly and fast for everyone, regardless of your browser (even IE, sigh...)

I have Chrome & before it was taking a while for the photo to appear. But I just tried it since you worked on it & ZAP! the photo appears. Yes, I agree; it rather surprises you. but it's nice it opening so fast. The other way was slow also.
