Here it is in the 30's at night, 40's daytime, and this Delosperma cooperii is still blooming. Smiling There was no sun, so the blooms are partially closed.

How nice to have such bright beautiful flowers this time of year. Do you know the cold hardiness zone for that?

Down to zone 5. But it would overwinter in your garage Chris. It is a fairly fast grower once the weather warms up.

It's a beauty - I'll have to look for that one next spring! Thanks for the info.

That's my favorite plant! Mine have bloomed from April to November so far.

Hurray! Hi Clint. Mine is still going great guns, inspite of the constant clouds, rain and cold temps. I think it will take a killing frost to make it stop.

It should be more popular. I'm using it in big urn planters. I have Yucca 'Color Guard' and these around it. I used to use Petunias, but these stay green all winter and neeed no deadheading. It's so easy to root. I gave tons to my parents this year too.

What is your growing zone Clint? Was wondering if it will be evergreen for me in zone 8?

I'm in zone 6b, in warm winter the cooperii is evergreen, and in colder winter it loses a lot of leaves and what remain are purple soft leaves.

Thank you Kim, it will be interesting to see what it does here with all the rain, for months. Hope I've added enough grit for fast draining.

The well established Cooperi has deep roots and it did fine in our most heavy snow winter in regular soil. This year I just got the Osberg and Mesa Verde and they're different than the purple flowering Cooperi. Although, Mesa Verde is also called delosperma cooperi but it has shorter leaves and more fragile. I'm keeping a watch on these two to see how they do first winter here.

I look forward to the results Kim. Thumbs up
I am hoping my D. 'Eye Candy' comes through winter here. It is so wet here. I did add lots of sand and chicken grit to the compost.

I'm in 7b I think. It's a winner. None of the new Delosperma come close to it.

I actually have another delosperma that I found a flower on today. Hadn't been out there for a few days. Sure was a surprise, and I forgot to look at the tag to see which one it is. The bloom looks similar to cooperi, but has a white eye. I think it is Starburst. Was to wet to take a photo. Maybe tomorrow? Hope the bloom is still there.
Eye Candy stopped blooming. It was blooming up until about 3 weeks ago. I just love that little delosperma.

Have any recent photos Clint? Would love to see them.

Thanks! I am so glad to find these locally. I ordered them last year but Spring Hill kept sending dead plants. Lesson learned big time!

I had the same experience the one (and only) time I ordered from Spring Hill. Grumbling
