Clint, can I ask if these delos are of the small kind versus the large cooperii size. Can't quite tell from pics but they do look smaller?

These are smaller. They don't spread like cooperi. I wish they would though. They have another series coming soon that spreads. I like them all. Rolling on the floor laughing

Now I an really drooling. Those are beautiful Clint. How long is the bloom time?
That is the one thing I love about cooperii blooms as soon as weather warms up and doesn't stop until a killing frost.
Eye Candy is another one that blooms all summer, but stays small.

Speaking of which, Bev I took your suggestion and moved my cooperii into one of the new beds, put it all at on end in the cinder block holes. Hurray!

Lynn - I wanted Eye Candy but they didn't have that one. I think these bloom until it gets really hot. I will update when I know for sure. Cooperi is one of my favorite plants here. I have it all over the place!

Thumbs up To tired to use the jumping up and down emoticon. But oh so happy. Lots done today, with temps in the mid 70's. First time in years I have been able to work out in the sun and not get sick. Hurray!
I guess I got excited enough to use the jumping emoticon. Rolling on the floor laughing

Hey, I just found this thread today, don't know how I missed it! I have started from seed this year Stardust. It's a blue. Have a ton of them growing! When they first germinated I would giggle because for awhile they looked like two fingers upright in the "peace" sign! Hilarious!

That's funny Arlene. Stardust is very pretty! How long does it take for them to sprout? Do they grow pretty fast?

Jackie,
I have grown delosperma here in Michigan for five years. Some years it goes gangbusters and comes back strong the next year. And sometimes it all freezes out! That is the case this year with mine that has the longer "leaves". I have some that have stubby "leaves" and they overwintered just fine. Go figure. So definitely grow it. Just know that it is hit or miss for overwintering.

Ok, sounds good! Where do you go for your plants? Is there a local nursery that you go to often? I havent really found all that many but a few at Home Depot last weekend but never any hardy plants just the tenders. Have you grown them from seed?

Hurray! Hey there. Glad you two found this thread.
Most of mine have come back this year, even after a major wet winter and spring. Still not sure if my 'Eye Candy' is going to come back. Sure hope so, it blooms until killing frost last year. If it doesn't come back I will give it a try again and change how it's planted.

The new Delosperma series called 'Jewel of Desert' is supposed to be more winter hardy.
