Clint those are both beautiful, but that D. dyeri is an attention getter for sure.

Is that straight up D. dyeri or the Red Mountain version?
Although, truth be told, I haven't been able to tell much of a difference.

Delosperma 'Fire Spinner' is a big dud here. No blooms at all!

I read they won't bloom without vernalization. I ordered from High Country Gardens. I heard they don't bloom long either. Mine haven't had buds either. All others I have bloomed repeatedy. So far I'm more disappointed with Fire Spinner than any other plant this year.

It might do well for you next year after it has gone through a winter in your area. What kind of winter temps to you normally get?

We have winter but not bad ones. They should have told people this plant doesn't bloom much like other Delosperma. Cooperi and Starburst have bloomed since April.

This is proving to be a keeper for me. Delosperma cooperi has bloomed non-stop all summer, and is still blooming and setting buds today at the end of Oct.
I have fallen in love with this one.
This photo was taken 10/24/2012. It looked this way during over 3 months of drought and is handling the almost non-stop rain we've been getting for the last 2 weeks.

Start of this thread now has me thinking of ice plant specifically the one in the first picture. Is that one easy to find? I didn't see it specifically in two out of the 3 links that was provided for Delosperma.
I like the compactness of it and the color. It would go in the plum section of my bed nicely.

One of my very favorites, Delosperma davyi. Here is where you can get it. http://www.wildgingerfarm.com/...
She won't be shipping now until next spring. Wouldn't hurt to see if you can place an order now for next spring. Most amazing nursery with a fascination collection of hard to find plants. http://www.wildgingerfarm.com/...
