Clint, do you have names of other delos that are like Jewel's characteristic of small and slow spreading?

I think Lynn has a few. These are my first that don't spread. They are more mounding. The hybridizer says more new colors are coming. He's also coming out with a series that spread more.

Hey, slow spreading is OK especially in my semp bed that is not that big. I leave the fast growing to those with large yards...

Does anyone know of a source for Delosperma Jewel of Desert 'Rosequartz'? I can't seem to get that one. I ordered it from Santa Rosa Gardens and once again they didn't send it. They do send nice plants though. It's just they have a bad habit of sending wrong plants or not sending the plant you ordered at all with no explanation. This is the only plant I need to complete my collection. Don't you hate it when you are so close and 1 elusive plant can not be found any place. LOL.

OMG Clint, you ARE obsessed!
I get that way, too.... My biggest obsession is evergreen groundcovers.

Firespinner was too flashy to be true.
I almost jumped to order a flat of it when it showed up on the cover of High Country Gardens' catalog, but I couldn't get that much plant money together. And now I'm glad because it would have been a waste.
SHOW ME YOUR CRITTERS! I have a critter page over at Cubits. http://cubits.org/crittergarde...

Clint thank you for your list and suggestions. I will definitely keep some cuttings off all of them and keep inside during winter just in case. I really wanted to get a bunch from my local greenhouse but I didnt. Figured it would be best to wait until I move before I get super crazy buying newbies.I defiantly will be looking for cooperi Clint!

Thanks

Looks like Moonstone is not as compact as White Nugget. I am looking for the more compact, slow spreading delos. I have not been able to find D. davyi; Just checked today and looks like Wild Ginger doesn't have any more.

That 'Moonstone' just arrived from Santa Rosa Gardens. It might be stressed some from shipping. It is pretty compact and tidy for one of these. It kind of stays in one spot. I was so happy when I opened the box and saw blooms! They really did a great job with the Delosperma compared to other places I've tried.

Thanks for the article, Marilyn! I want to go to the Denver Botanic Garden and see their Delosperma. I hear they are beautiful.

I will try to see what I can find. Give me some hints on how to package it to insure it arrives if/when I find it.

I think they are easy to ship. Just don't water it before sending. Let it dry out somewhat.
