What happened to New Hampshire Hosta????
Last year plants were so big and nicely packed. This year dirt everywhere, I paid 12.99 for a hosta in a three inch pot, I got a plug in a 3" pot. The main hosta was 'Midnight at the Oasis' the rest were just to make the postage count. They canceled M@TO and gave me a refund, reason being crop failure by supplier. No email telling me it had been shipped. This box came out of no where and I had a big mess to deal with last night. I am happy with 'Great Expectations', it is at least three times bigger than the ones I have, and Eternal Flame is nice size, I just need to clean them up and repot them, but I am out of potting soil, I didn't know they were coming. Probably the most important thing for customer service is communication. If I had known M@TO was not available I would cancel whole order. They lured me in with this beautiful hosta which was not even there, it was supposed to come from a supplier. Midnight at the Oasis will go back on the list, but NHH is off the list.

Susan, it stinks you didn't get the one you wanted from New Hampshire Hosta. Shame on them for sending the order out without letting you know it wasn't available.

Luckily they are hostas all spilled out. Shouldn't really hurt them, but what a mess.

Plants from Santarosa look excellent. I've always heard good things about them, but never saw the plants.

Going back to Santa Rosa Gardens - when I revamped my yard a couple of years ago, I was looking for an inexpensive source of ground covers and other perennials. Santa Rosa gardens had good prices, and they had sales quite regularly. I purchased a bunch of plants from them thinking they were from the Santa Rosa area in California. I was really happy with the first shipment of plants - both with the sizes and packaging. It was not until my 3rd or 4th order that I realized that they were NOT from California and local like I thought. But by that time, I was hooked on that company and shipping all the way from Florida to California was not expensive at all. The plants acclimated well, and have only lost a few plants - including two pennisetum that did not overwinter. I have mixed results from Annie's annuals - some thrive and some die. It could be that I order the more common hardier plants from Santa Rosa, and tend to order the rarer ones from Annie's Annuals and perennials so they have less of a chance of surviving.

I really did enjoy shopping on the website, It was my first time and the early bird special discount got me interested, everything turned out well with them and also Plantdelights, I have a few more orders from Hallson's, ilovehostas.net , coneflowers.net, Greenmountain, GoGardenNow and Country Boys Garden.
I have never ordered from Annies because the postage was so high. Also when I look up a plant, there is a big difference between her pictures and what I see on the gardening forums. I like to see how the plant performs for real people and her pictures are very doctored up, they are almost 'Art' work.

No mini, it was supposed to be a regular size Hosta, or regular for a three inch pot.
As far as hostas go I would call it a seedling, the bare root hostas I got in february are 10x that big.

Annies shipping is wayyyy too high. I have been so tempted to order from there, but then think of the shipping.

A lot of places won't ship at all into CA, OR or WA now. So, you're really lucky, Dianne, that you can get such nice plants.

Of course there are a lot of places in those states to get nice plants anyway.
