My first year w daylilies. I wanted them everywhere and have a large yard so I've been throwing a lot of plants in the ground.

As usual, I'm blown away by all the gorgeous flowers here, folks. Just stunning. I have only 6 or 7 plants since I buy batches, then if they show signs of being rusty buckets (hey, it's Florida . . ) I transplant them to my daughter's garden in Utah. The dry air there seems to pretty much prevent any rust problems. Today, I have Siloam Double Classic finally putting up a nice double, then, in the same pot this poly jumped up, twice the height and 4 times the size of the SDC flowers, over 9in. across. Also a nice productive scape of Leabee Orange Crush, which has a great fragrance.

ANGEL'S VIEW (Guy Pierce, Fall 2017 Intro)
I really couldn't get a feel for how this daylily looks from the hybridizer's picture, so I was very pleased when this beauty started blooming. The first bloom was terribly
splotchy, but I loved the look of it.


And then here's how the second bloom looked. The first picture was early in the morning, and I must admit that I wasn't all that impressed.


But then later in the day it looked like this... Wow!

What a great green throat on a huge flower!

And I love love love Guy Pierce's new WHO LOVES BLUE. It's such a treat because every bloom looks a little different. Here's more patterning:

And yesterday's bloom was a little more in the blue range...

And sooooo fertile!

DIAMOND SHORES - (Guy Pierce, Spring 2017)
I purchased this daylily during their summer sale last June and posted a few pictures here in our database when it was quite pastel -- and when it started blooming last week I couldn't believe it was the same daylily -- what a beauty!

By the way, I've been taking pictures using both my camera and IPhone, and this is an example of the difference. These were two different blooms, but my IPhone makes the bloom look brighter and now I'm using both to try and get pictures that look the most like the actual blooms.

I noticed my first scape of the season, on 'Asheville Pink Lady' yesterday! There may be others, but I was happening by that one, while going from the back to the front, when preparing to dig out the Stellas for giving away (which there were two scapes on those, but they don't count any more ) Anyway, I'm so excited to see my FFO, this year!!

The first bloom was quite orange, but the second one was a little more pink.

This is quite a tall beauty!

So far all my blooms are somewhat splotchy, but they are very large and colorful -- although I think Fred's bloom was spectacular!

This one is one of my canary in the cave CVs as I use it as a rust indicator. But the bloom is nice, even after being beaten by the sun.

Wow on Spacecoast Art Deco! That one just went on my list, what a lovely bloom.

And I'm so thankful that I recently got SPACECOAST ART DECO -- and it has a scape!
