I think Ric should just try to get himself & Holly to the swap, sans Pro Mix. If Terri & I go up that way (not a given, as both of us are having busy summers), we'll get some extra bales, but at the most it would be what fits into the back of my minivan. So... I don't think we're doing Pro Mix in a big way, unless we do a group trip up to PA and everybody grabs an extra bale or two for somebody who didn't make the trip.

I posted a couple of places in this forum but neglected this thread (wrist slap).

Let's see if we can put together that second order from ADR bulbs! The thread is in the group buy forum, The thread "Fall bulbs from ADR, local pick-up only (Mid-Atlantic gardeners)" in Classifieds and Group Buys forum

There are a few amaryllis, N. 'Thalia', and Muscari armeniacum (grape hyacinth) bulbs available from our pre-season sale at extremely good prices. We're also chatting about additional amaryllis, paperwhites, and other goodies. I know people mentioned to me at the spring swap that they were interested in daffs this year.

Some have already sold out, but most are still available. Not sure yet what the ending date will be, but please don't delay if you're interested

I am not certain if there will be any interest so I am posting to ask.

My false indigo/baptisa australis has produced an absolute bumper crop of seeds. I am going to start some seeds in a couple of weeks and see how they do. Same thing for the sweet peas i planted- lost the tag on those but they are a beautiful mix of pinks, pink & white, pure white, some lavender and very vigorous shall we say lol.

I can also just provide seeds for each if anyone is interested. If you are i can list them in the swap. Smiling

I'd love some sweet peas, especially "very vigorous" ones! Going to try them next spring at the retirement community. I put 3 trellises up against a shed (by my in-laws' cottage), and nobody has objected... I have some cucumber starts I want to put there, but even though they've gotten bigger and tougher I'm still afraid the bunnies would eat them to nothing. So, I'm going to bring some containers over and put them in front of the trellises. I think those same containers would keep sweet peas out of the reach of bunnies, too!

Where did all the people go who were interested in getting FALL BULBS, especially DAFFODILS? If you've ordered through Rick's group buy, cool. If you're waiting to see who else orders before posting what you want, then please go over to the thread on the group buy forum and start posting! I'll give it another week, maybe 2 weeks if interest develops, but otherwise I won't put in an order to ADR since we won't have met the minimum. (Those who purchased whole boxes and split flats this spring, no worries, that group buy has already been put into place.)

Jill- i will do some starts on the sweet pea but also save you some seed. I have this same sweet pea in a container and it over wintered, although it did not produce as well as the one in the bed. i have to come up with a new trellis idea lol- it just tumbled over everything and eveyone. Like you see on the roadsides sometimes.

don't worry about me and and fall bulb buy- i am not looking for amaryllis nor daffs- willing to help fill those in tho if need be if it helps secure the stuff that others wanted. Let me know Smiling Most of the things i am interested in say pre oder (for spring even tho is lists in fall lol) or sold out. I have a little list if you want to see it.

didn't know rick's buy was separate from yours. will have to look at that too. Furniture moving day here- demo on kitchen is done and i have been cleaning and such- now moving things about and still cleaning lol. Even when contractors use plastic that dust gets everywhere- not my favorite chore either. Smiling

Sue, I haven't committed yet to the fall swap. But Baptisia is a big favorite plant of a person who advises on planting natives. If I come, I would like seed or seedlings.

Jill, I don't think I'll be buying bulbs, just not a priority right now.
Plant it and they will come.

@Lisa, I do not know which Holly I have, do not know whether it is male or female. It is a volunteer, I keep cutting it down, because I do not like it. Leaves are very sharp. I will try to dig it out, I had been just cutting it. I do not know if I can do that, but I will try. If it is not the one you want, it is okay too, just toss it out. It is under my Azalea bush. But if the plant is too close to the Azalea roots, I do not want to hurt the Azalea. I have to check it out. Now too dark outside.

tantefrancine, thank you for your holly offer but please no need to bother digging it up. Most important thing is this: Do not hurt your Azalea!
