The same kind of stems cut the same day but put by a more sunny window have much more colorful flowers. This is about the most vibrant I've been able to get from this plant, K. houghtonii. These blooms need all day sun to get really dark.
Kalanchoe is probably my fav genus. None of the others I've had compare to blossfeldiana for bloom longevity, but I'm unable to provide more than a few hours of sun per day during the cold season. Those with a real GH would probably have even more floriferous plants. The show is starting! Beginning credits are rolling...
K. fed leaves are more than enough for visual enjoyment, but it's always fun when they are able to bloom too. I usually get a peach/salmon color from these, when they do.
K. rosei manages to produce cute little bluish purple balloons. The petals are not the best part, IMVHO. I'd love to see an established patch of this in a natural habitat. Mine are always so lax, and probably stretched.
