Guess they do provide a bit of shelter Hilarious!
I started out with several colors of digitalis, but it seems like only the purplish ones tend to self-seed and thrive. I have one white one blooming which I am going to let go to seed, and then I am going to spread those seeds as much as I can to get another color in the mix.

Mine tend to be pretty in spring, then fry in summer. The spider mites get them too. Overall, the foliage is pretty ugly in the heat of summer. I try to plant them in the back, where the foliage will be hidden.

We're getting there... Odd year. March was warm and everything woke up. April was cold and things came to a standstill. Now May's here and suddenly it's in the mid 80s. Shrug!
