Another new one for me, 'What Again', which, according to many photos I looked at, doesn't usually have streaks and spots like this. The coloring reminds me of the earlier one I posted, Gizmo the Gremlin. I love the intense blue beards. This bee seems to like it too. Thumbs up

The streaks & spots can be caused by a virus. All irises have it but shows up when the plants are under stress. It may be absent in later blossoms on the same plants.

I do too! I'd be willing to infect some of my irises with a virus if they could look like that. Green Grin!

I think it's common on What Again. Not a virus. Goggle it, and you'll see lots of them with streaks.

If it is common to a certain plant, that one is often susceptbile to cold damage. A problem is when you find out after you introduce it.

Other things can come out as well. We found that a SDB would produce extra flower parts on the teminial flower if there was cold damage. It did not do this until after it was introduced. Don't say that plants are not sneaky. Smiling

Here's another cute dwarf that just opened. Jade Stone:

And these opened up too, but I don't know their names.

The second one isn't really a dwarf. I think it's an intermediate iris. Someone gave me a few of them years ago and now it's growing all over the place.

I'm amazed by the colors, Betty, and the dwarf irises seem to have the best combinations, and the most bizarre ones!

I like orange beards too, Sue. I'll give you some of these because I have a bunch.

I just totally love the beards on the SDB's now -- just about any color combination you could dream up! Too bad the big ones are much tougher for beard color changing!
