I weeded my iris beds Friday and Saturday and cleaned out all the Fall leaves blown in.

Here is the iris bed in the big mid back bed. Besides the TB iris, this bed has Dutch iris between the TB iris plants. Second spring for the Dutch Iris plants. I still have to put Preen on this bed so that the weeds don't start up again. Well, at least to slow them down.

I forgot to clean up this front yard corner TB iris beds when I was doing the others so it still needs to be done.

I did already do iris row but it is so windy today that it looks like some leaves have blown back in.

Looks like your iris beds are really coming right along, Rita! I checked this weekend, and I now have a few early blooming TB's with stalks/buds coming up -- so it won't be long now! My SDB's are blooming now, and I have my first intermediate blooming, but it rained all day yesterday and I haven't been out to check on everything yet. I will shortly, though, as this is my MiracleGro spraying day!

Well, I don't have iris blooming very early as I stick to the Tall Bearded. I don't mind, I like those the best and might as well have what I truely like. But they are really doing great this spring. Everything came thu the winter, no rotters or dead ones. I reamember last year in the spring there was a bunch of them that I really wasn't sure if they would live or not.

It is a small 3 foot square. The outer square is 7 feet. In the little square are yellow Columbine, Hummingbirds mints and orange butterfly weed. There is clematis going up the tower thingy.

Thanks Rita we just built it in July I had one large mixed bed and everything was over grown and they needed divided badly so I wanted something a little easier to work with and space to walk through and clean them which I did not have before I am looking forward to bloom I didnt think I would get much with this being the first year transplanted but they are growing really well it might be a good year.

Betty I have some stalks coming up but I am still at least a week away from anything Blooming if the weather stays warm starting to worry about frost damage I have roses completely leafed out and Japanese Maples are the same way and late frost have really hurt them before but I think my first will be Ghios Plot LIne this year.

Dot I have had leaf spot really bad the past couple seasons and have really tried to stay ahead of the dead leaves, I got most of that big bed cleaned in January we had 60s for highs on January 1st and I took advantage of it, I have also been using Snapshot for weed control it has made it really easy for me, I wish I had it years ago I used to spend days on my knees fighting weeds and grass until I started using it.

Paul I will take lots of pics this year of it I do have a couple pictures of the old one that I moved all of them from here are a couple of the old mixed bed

Polly Thank You I will take some pictures of the other berms tommorrow and post them for you I also Love to look at whole garden bed pictures Im always looking for ideas of what else to add with my Iris that will do well together Im kinda limited to what I can have with the cold here but I try to plant a lot of different conifers, small trees and roses to help when the Iris go out of bloom.

Thanks Rita I planted most of the new one in clumps so Im hoping it will turn out nice at least the maintence will be a lot easier and I should be able to keep track of them a little easier with the extra space.
