Welcome sandnsea2!!! I like how some folks who were lurking on the orchid forum at DG suddenly got really assertive!!!! We need all the lurkers and their questions. It becomes a vibrant place when we are all active. Feel free to start threads everyone!! If you want me to start anything else let me know. As Victor said, "the inmates are now running the show."

Here's Den. princess x unicum. Sort of a maize yellow. The ebay pic was pink. We'll see. I love that I got it in mid Dec. and it's in bloom!

Yeah, this group is growing, GREAT!! :-)
Hi Jim, good to see you here too.

I would guess that the unicum hybrid is a bit more floriferous that the species. Nice!!

My Avatar is 'Ursula', as in Phaiocalanthe Kryptonite 'Ursula'. That one is in bud right now, I can't wait for the spike to open.

My Barkeria melanocaulon is STILL blooming. It is going strong for many weeks now.

Welcome Joanne! Yet another forum for us to participate in...I'm running thin these days.

Great Blc Jim...I'm sure the name is changed these days to something unpronounceable but who cares...the flower is lovely either way.

Ursula, you do well with Barkeria!

Okay, I'm losing my fear so will stop just lurking. I am new to orchids and all of you seems so friendly. I thought I might learn a lot about here. : )
I just found out that one of my unkown orchids is a Dendrobium just from looking at the pictures posted here. I will keep watching and I am sure I will have lots of questions, like how & what type of orchids can I train onto wood, etc. So much to learn.

Pics from today. This Phal may be Sun Beauty. I don't know why the petals aren't flatter but I'm glad it's alive (I have bad luck with phals). I have it growing in aliflor and sponge rock now. Works best for me.
